That's only if it was truely due to an electrical fire. Maybe I missed it but isn't that still an assumption? I would be willing to bet it was the owner's use of space heaters after seeing FavouriteTipple's video. Anyway, it's truly a shame that any historic structure has been lost after so many years of existence.

Thanks KellyGirl, I was beginning to question myself lol. I still might be weird? Lol. I went to England / Scotland in 96. Rented a car and just drove. I would stay at local bed and breakfasts. I stayed a week at Loch Lomand and hiked the area. I was going to drive to Loch Ness but ran out of time. Boleskine was my goal. Since then that's all I wanted to do, return and make it there. I love the countryside so just the beauty of the area is what I was looking forward to. I wanted to hike up and behind Boleskine. I feel the same as you, if Page thought it was an interesting place, why not? Oh well, maybe Wales, to see Bron-y-aur.
  4. Coolest avatar pic EVER!

Very lucky man. ? Have a good day!

  5. Well said. A great loss for sure. I'm trying to see my favorites every chance I get. It's honestly the best way to show our appreciation for them while they are here. I'm so glad to have seen him with the Eagles even though it was expensive. Finally going to see Peter Gabriel this summer.

OK, fair enough. Maybe I am the only one upset that it burnt down. I guess I am weird.
  7. My opinion, I enjoyed it when I first heard it, and since, I believe it holds up.

I have some experience in house restoration as a investor, and from what I see in your video I would say the house will be raised (tore down). Very sad!

Yep, I agree, and I think I had read that Page only spent a TOTAL of 6 weeks at Boleskine.

Thank you. I had hoped to visit Boleskine someday, but I guess that dream is over.
  11. Heart, with Jason Bonham and Led Zep Experience
  12. Yeah, me too, I was afraid to start a new thread, oh well, glad I did. Good information.
  13. Does Jimmy Page have any brothers or sisters? Was his parents wealthy? Did his folks put him through college? Just some things I never knew.
  14. Jimmy's net worth is 77 million, we could be richer than the Led Wallet himself!

Can you post recent pictures if you live just up the road? Can you please post updates, such as if they bulldoze the remainder of the house? Please keep us informed since you have an insider view, I would be interested to know. Thanks.

The church across the road from the house burnt down, supposedly with the congregation of people in it.

Maybe they'll unearth the tunnel to the graveyard now?
  19. As a musician I was a little shocked to hear the similarities in Page's Outrider song "Wasting My Time" and Billy Squire's "Everybody Wants You". Billy Squire 'Everybody Wants You' - 1982 Jimmy Page 'Wasting My Time' - 1988 The similarities are too close to be a coincidence IMHO.
  20. Is this what Page was using during a lot of his leads at O2? It sounded like he was fingering up two octives but I noticed he was playing on the same fret?
  21. Hopefully someone out there has heard the same tthing I heard. I am a guitarist not a drummer, but I have never heard anything like this before. It is on the LZ DVD, disc #2, select interviews and promos, then select promos. The'fillersong' here is The Song Remains the Same. Bonzo is incredible on this! I have never heard him play this fast before! No overdubbing has been done on this version. Two questions for you drummers, could this be double bass drums? The footage is to grainy to tell? Second question, when and where was this concert and is there a soundboard recording of it? Thanks, I have always been intrigued by just this very small snippit of perfection, it's a shame it wasn't of better quality so as to be used in the DVD in its entirety.?
  22. Sorry, I can't get the 'quote' option to work again, but this is a question for those of you who have visited Boleskine. I was planning a visit to the area, so I was using Google Earth and taking a good look around. When I scrolled up the mountain behind Boleskine, just to the South, I see a giant hole on the top of the mountain. Has anyone hiked the area I am talking about? Anyone have pictures? What the heck is this?? Here are the coordinates. 57 Degrees 15' 37.47" N , 4 degrees 28' 37.93" W. Thanks to all in advance...
  23. I was wondering if anyone was curious as to why Jimmy Page visited Headley Grange in 1970? Was Headley used by other bands to record music? What would be his thought process to visit an obscure place like this and have it 'click' that it would be a good place to record an album?
