  1. I always thought the show associated with Jimmy sitting down to play was in Chicago? Were there others? (not talking about their acoustic set) Does anybody know why he sat down during this Tempe show? Perhaps wobbly from his smack and booze diet.
  2. I do understand your side of the coin. I kind of look at like Plants pants in T S R T S movie is a female displaying ample amounts cleavage. It's not meant to be focal point - just a fun distraction. And yes Zep through the eyes of a female and through the eyes of (most) males can be very different haha! It's cool though! We're all fans of their music!! Shit this is so off topic. It's a thread about little things about Zep that irk you and I'm derailing the hell out of it. Sorry to the original poster.
  3. Damn I'm an outcast with the majority of these answers. I sense tomatoes being pelted at my head. There is a time and place for everything. I would not have enjoyed the band copying the image of ' 73 into their O2 show, however male rock stars in the mid 1970s incorporating sexual overtones into a live performance?? I say it went with the territory. The band went outside the conservative box when it came to their stage presence. Robert Plant wearing pants that tell you what side he rests it on goes with what Zeppelin were selling and what the fans were willing to buy into. Plus they were writing amazing music on top of it. They fact they were confident enough to peacock around in some rather feminine-esque garb, and be wanted by the opposite sex is rather telling on what was taking place in that decade. As much as I love the flamboyant 73 - 77 side of the band, I also like those very early days too. Jimmy's stage attire at the Bath Festival with that fuzzy out of control beard, hat and coat reminds me of Paddington Bear, and love the poorly fitted ZoSo sweater that makes you wonder if it was swiped off a 5 year old kid. What I don't like? 12 years and there is very little video. I blame Peter and his scare tactics for that. Oh and the '76 PEOPLE magazine cover. Plant is wearing a crocheted sweater Grandma made last Christmas. Bonzo is in his late 20s, yet in that picture it screams middle aged math teacher. Jones is okay, but his hair looks a bit like a wig you would see at a renaissance fair - and the photographer has him positioned a bit awkward. Lastly Jimmy. Jimmy reminds me of a villainous woman on soap opera in the 70s like Dallas, Dynasty or Knots Landing. If I squint and turn the lights down he reminds me a bit of Joan Collins. There are hundreds of images of the band and this one doesn't do them justice. By the way I love Joan!
  4. Wow, everybody involved on the plaintiff's side are p a i n f u l l y annoying. I can feel a rant coming on when it comes to everybody from that cockroach they call a lawyer, to the sisters who say this is for the kids.... and only the kids. I don't see this appeal having any legs though. It's not going anywhere. I'm just turned off at how greedy Randy's family and friends can be. His own son isn't even part of this. That tells me all I need to know about those tied to his estate. Damn vultures.
  5. Awww this was sweet of Jimmy!! Very nicely put Ddladner!! Our girl minds thinking alike!! Always sending the good vibes to my fave musician!!
  6. Oh no of course not. Haha Just being 'over dramatic' with the whole child rapist appeal example. Civil and criminal cases most definitely different. A bit over the top on how Malofiy and his client are playing up the Randy was a victim of those evil meanies Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, and now they are getting away with their awful misdeeds.
  7. http://www.kshe95.com/news/real-rock-news/spirit-attorney-says-they-will-appeal-led-zeppelin-ruling Somebody tell me the court will shut this down and tell Malofiy to get a new hobby. Francis and Skidmore are putting on their big boy underpants, and are appealing. Malofiy hinted at this the moment the jury sided with Led Zeppelin, so this is not shocking to read. It's a copyright infringement case where Led Zeppelin were proven innocent. It's not a child killing rapist case where somebody got off on a technicality and it's being appealed because you want to make sure the sicko goes to prison. No these are people who want Jimmy Page and Robert Plant to pad their wallet. Where is Randy's son in all of this? Randy's trust and who is in charge sounds like it's a mess. Shouldn't things be in his sons name. I haven't followed up on this when skimming through the court docs. that were linked to us, so maybe the answers are there.
  8. And also add in Jimmy's generosity got him recognition from Queen Elizabeth.
  9. Ha! Nah, Pamela, Lori and Bebe would be trying to get a book deal out of it, if they were apart of it. "It all started when we found ourselves underneath Jimmy's mistletoe" - I'm With The Band... A Christmas Version.. I'm sure once upon a time with those 3 in the mix anything would have been possible, but 'today' I assume he means all the women he has kiddos with and probably his current girlfriend Scarlett. Well that's what I got from his interview
  10. Mithril46, I swear I read in S A J's mystery thread that Jimmy had purchased a car for Charlotte as a birthday gift at one time. I don't remember the make and model, but I'm pretty sure the poster wasn't talking about Jimmy buying a beat up station wagon with the wood paneling or a Chevy Astro van. I want to say it was a Rolls-Royce I could be soo wrong though. And yes I love how Jimmy says he brings in all his past lady loves, and they all get along for the holiday season. Very cool indeed! Santa Jimmy.
  11. Aww you're not alone. price.pittsburgh. I breathed a sigh of relief when I read they had won too!! I was so overjoyed for the band - especially Jimmy as he was the one that seem to be facing the most ridiculing. The jury got it right. And yes you should have ventured on here. Many members were linking up to date Tweets from reporters who were right inside the court room, but hey it's over now! Led Zeppelin won!!!
  12. Cool discussion After reading the pretrial docs. (thanks @LedZepNews) we knew Jimbert were going to claim they never heard the song 'Taurus' while writing 'Stairway To Heaven' , but with old interviews where Jimmy is tooting Spirit's horn, I saw a number of posts where people were thinking *Oh shit, this S O B Malofiy will have a field day* and technically he did. With both Jimmy and Robert doing the whole "I don't recall, my memory is fuzzy, Spirit who, Taurus whaaaat? I didn't hear that song until 2014." it was a bit mucky on the stand. The jury didn't buy it. Fortunately that's a lot of what-ifs hear-say and circumstantial evidence that Malofiy was holding. Question: Do members here believe the verdict could have played out differently if Jimmy had said he listened to 'Taurus' when it originally came out, or if Plant said he remembers meeting Spirit band members at a gig and having a great time? I say no. The jury already believed they had heard and had access to the song. They based their decision on the the two pieces of music not being similar enough to classify it as infringement. Not whether Jimmy Page listened to the song 'Taurus' before hand, and not if Robert Plant was having a kick ass time with Spirit band members in a pub. That right there should not matter. Francis Malofiy and Randy Wolfe's family should stop gambling away the rest of his trust with all these legal bills. They finally had a trial after 45+ years. The jury made its decision on the two songs intros NOT.BEING.THE.SAME, and with the Judge Klausner telling them nobody owns guitar chords. They smell so much of greed.
  13. You're not kidding . The woman with the voice over didn't help it either. She seemed confused on who was who and who was with what group. And I couldn't help but role my eyes when she said she was waiting to speak with Jimmy and Robert. As if they were going to mosey out the front door and speak with a bunch of dumb reporters who can't even get the names involved in the lawsuit right. I do wish Pamela Chelin could have gotten a soundbite from them. Even though she reported as neutral. She definitely had Zep rose colored glasses on.....which I indeed liked
  14. Jimbert lie?! I don't buy it hehe. Of course the jury believes they had access. *quietly under every biased Zep fan's breath we believe it too* That still doesn't prove copyright infringement. That's where the musical experts playing both songs intros and handing the jury the sheet music became crucial in this case. And I express the same as you. How much creatively this would've impacted the music industry if we had 8 idiots up there. Anybody aspiring to be a musician would be worried anything they believe is an original idea is already taken and grounds for infringement. Only reason I beat the dead horse is because Malofiy being the dirty tampon he is, says the jury only hearing the experts versions of 'Taurus' is unfair. Huh?!? I guess Francis stepped out of the room when they played exactly was on the registered sheet music for both songs eh! They lost and in return people's money, time and energy were wasted on this case. I'll play the role of gullible nit wit and give Randy's 2 sister's + Skidmore the benefit of the doubt on why they spent Randy's $$ on this lawsuit, but trying to move forward with an appeal I think is damn greedy. They'd rather gamble at losing all of what's left in Randy's trust, than actually donating the remaining to the charity they are "claiming" this lawsuit was started for.
  15. Thank you so much SuperDave, Ddladner and Queen of Light. O m g Malofiy put a damn sock in it. He is nattering on about what he believes was a skewed trial towards Zep from the beginning. Stop it. Judge K. allowed unprejudiced and unbiased evidence to be part of the trial. It doesn't matter if the defendants have more money, and are represented by corporate bigwigs and suits. Peter and Helene weren't strolling up to the jury winking, flirting, bending over dropping their pens and handing out wads of cash if they voted in favour of Led Zeppelin. The 8 person jury heard the experts play all pieces both sides. They voted that the two were separate and the Judge told them chords can not be owned. Just as Hershey chocolate does not own cocoa beans, Budweiser does not own barley and Randy California does not own guitar notes or chords. I also want to touch on the jury stating Jimbert had access to hear Taurus doesn't technically mean the jury believes they indeed heard it. It just means they believe prior to writing Stairway To Heaven there was very real chance they had opportunity to hear it - as did anyone else who was alive, owned a record player in the late 1960s and had functioning eardrums. Yes Jimbert could have skipped merrily along holding hands on route to a record store, bought the record, came home and listened to it an hour before they started writing Stairway, but still there is NO factual proof that happened - It only implies that there was realistic possibility. i.e. June 20th I had access to a car - Does that mean I drove it? Nope! All it means is I had access to it since it was in my garage and the keys were in my possession. I think it's a gray fuzzy area with the jury's statement when you think about it don't you? This is the big reason why they probably had to move on towards listening to the song. The proof of access was not 100% guarantee. "I don't recall" is such back door out when you're under oathe isn't it. Side note. My husband while away with his job said 'certain people' in connection with an M L B team were happy with the verdict. Zep have fans in all corners don't they.
  16. A bit of silly speculation. When or what could be the next thing that could bring Jimmy Page + Robert Plant and John Paul Jones together in the same room at the same time in an American city? Yeah yeah sure they could be in London, but they wouldn't technically be ' together.' It's a taste of bittersweet reality to realize the 3 of them for a few hours last week were a unit coming together for Led Zeppelin - and that will probably be the last time. The trial is over. Nobody wants random clowns continuing to look for ways to sue the band just so they're brought together. (At least we hope not ) If they share the same space again, have it be for something positive and not for money grabbing court cases. In the mean time they will all go their separate ways and back to life apart from Led Zeppelin. Today's reality. Hey though, Jason has a birthday coming up where he said he wanted to invite the 3 of them. Is it wishful or naive to think the 4 of them would have an impromptu jam and WHOOPS somebody records it? I know, I know that chapter is closed already. Simmer down I'm having forum fun. My employer has been awesome the whole trial. Allowing me to be on this site along with twitter while at work. Bonus I even turned some of my clientele into Zep fans
  17. Randy's 2 sisters. Sighhh. I think enough money has been wasted on this lawsuit. They look money hungry at this point. They had a trial, they are lucky a judge allowed it to get this far. The estate for Randy are speaking as if the jury wasn't able to compare, as if Taurus wasn't demonstrated by musical experts, and instead they played the intro to Old MacDonald Had A Farm vs. Stairway To Heaven and then asked: Do these sound the same? The plaintiff's musical experts played both songs openings for the jury. Defendant's musical experts played both songs openings for the jury. The jury heard both intros at that point. Apples to apples were compared right there, all before the full studio version of Stairway To Heaven - which I deep down did not want them to hear, but I think it was move by Anderson to have the jury hear the iconic piece from start to finish. To show how after the intro it was this well crafted piece of music and not 2 minutes of elevator / doctor's office waiting room music - that is Taurus. It should have always been about the sheet music only for both songs. The notes /chords that are written on the paper. Compare those side by side. Listening is too tricky based on the fact we have no clue if 3 of the jury members are tone deaf, don't have trained ear for music, or even simply can't hear well. With the sheet music there is only one way to read it. A is A, B is B, D is D and so forth. And somebody did tweet that Jimmy and Robert hugged it out, Awww I knew they would. The correct team won today.
  18. So so so very happy for the band - especially Jimmy as it was his opening chords that were under the scrutiny and the fact he admitted he owned Spirit album along with liking their music. This jury did a good thing today for music history. The estate of Randy California Wolfe came to play and they got beat. Haha I am so glad this trial has come to end. It's been suspensful 7 days. I wish we had pictures to see the relief and smiles on Jimmy and Robert's face. Aww I bet they bro hugged
  19. Ashley Cullins tweeted that jury sent in a note. She said it could be the verdict, a question or a request for food. I hope it is not for food, because that would mean they feel they have a long ways to deliberate still.
  20. Court is over and the jury is still deliberating? I have mixed feelings of that being good and bad for Zeppelin. The bad: What is there to deliberate? Malofiy and his witnesses did not prove that the members of Led Zeppelin had access to Taurus and Judge Klausner told them that the chords in question are not owned by anybody. This is like saying tomatoes are owned by Heinz and if Hunt's dare to use them then they are 'stealing' from Heinz. The good: Hopefully the jury are taking their time and dotting all the i's and crossing the t's , making sure there are no loop holes for the plaintiff to bite back on, and Judge Klausner can go ahead and say the court agrees with this decision - Zep winning that is. What are other people's thoughts on a jury deliberating quickly versus slowly? ********************************************************************************** Somebody asked what will Robert and Jimmy say in future interviews? Well if they win I expect them to be quite colourful about it followed up with the middle finger. If they lose Robert will treat Stairway like he did in the 80/90s - pretend it doesn't exsist, And with Jimmy, Stairway will become a topic like smack and Lori M where if you want to get an interview with Page than it's not on the table to discuss. Which would be terrible since Jimmy loves talking about how the song came to be.
  21. Yes as we all know the trial ended earlier today. The defense has wrapped up. The closing arguments and jury instructions tomorrow. The Judge has not given word on motion to dismiss in Zeps favour yet. Is it still a possibility? Who knows. Giggles @ the flirty British guy on Twitter who asked reporter Pamela Chelin covering the trial "Has Jimmy Page made a move on you yet?" Hehe love that @PamelaChelin on Twitter who has been in the courtroom from the beginning has done a fabulous job keeping people updated. Great personality for social media too! Friendly + informative! It also helped that she went to law school and has covered trials before. Love her humour and interactions with fellow Zep fans too! Add my name to the "Thank You" list for those who brought over links, blurbs, blogs, you name it!
  22. I don't see it being dismissed - but if it was - I'm spinning it into something positive if Judge Klausner rules in Zeppelins favor. Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones should have never set foot in a Los Angeles, CA courtroom. Insanity I tell you, so for me if the Judge says "shows over people..go home", than I think I'm going to look at it like this is his little way of saying he made a boo-boo to even let it get this far. There was never a question as to who the writers of Stairway To Heaven are, and to me the Judge would be admitting that. If Judge K really believed Michael Skidmore and company had a leg to stand on, he would let this farce continue on. The court gave 'Spirit' a fair shot. They presented their evidence, but somewhere Klausner could have realized this was a colossal mistake. He just needed to wake the hell up! <------That right there is my fangirl theory and I'm sticking to it. #Fruitloop #UnicornsAndHappyThoughts #RainbowsHeartsKittensAndPuppies #FreeBeer #ChicagoCubsWorldSeriesChamps2016 #ZeppelinReunion whoa that last one I got a little silly there. Must be hot weather and red wine HA! My above comment are only geared towards the Judge IF he tosses this shit out. I don't know whats going through the mind of 8 people who don't know who Led Zeppelin are. Other than they must be bored and lonely living under a rock. They don't have to like Zeppelin, but to not know of them and be able to sit on a jury is craaazy. Oh and yes haters will hate. There will and always has been underlying jealousy as far as Led Zeppelin goes. That's fine with me. Let them be green with their back handed compliments.
  23. Thanks for posting this Walter. I was just about bring these over off of @LedZepNews twitter feed Nice job! Through out the trial Malofiy has been the equivalent of a jack-ass. Zeppelin's legal team must be picking up some kind of vibe from the Judge that has them feeling confident that the judge could side with them. Why else ask this for this request? I hope Judge Klausner grants them this.
  24. To the bolded part. Do we know why? Is this normal? I think it's a good thing definitely. Malofiy has been the butt of many jokes of the trial. It sounds like the court room has erupted several times in laugher at his expense. And either it's the vibe I'm getting off Twitter + reporters or it's actually happening, but Jimmy is being delightfully charming, witty and cheeky on the stand. His demeanor in the court room sounds like it's been quite relaxed. Not cocky, arrogant or stuffy. I can't answer how Plant has been since he has yet to be on the stand. Sounds like there's been some Jimbert moments though during small breaks. Speaking of Robert.... Is there any particular reason why Robert going on the stand is a question mark for the defense? Is he some kind of liability if he opens his mouth? I would have thought he would have already testified, but I kind of question what possibly he can offer. I only ask because so far both sides seem content on having him be a courtroom decoration. Rumblings say Jimmy could testify again but Robert is up in the air (from tweets I have seen) Jones I read is more than likely finished Thanks so much to everyone for linking up so many great updates
  25. I don't know who would want to take on this case if it was called a mistrial. It's already out there in the media so finding qualified jury who don't already have a set opinion could be difficult. I'm not saying it can't be done, just saying Randy's estate would have to think long and hard. Is it worth it? It's already been 45 years. If this was a cake walk to get this off the ground it would have gone to court many many years ago. Most people with scruples would've been taking a look at the whole thing and thinking yeah no I'm not touching that one. Francis is the unscrupulous one. In other news the plaintiff used up all of their 10 hours. In that time he sure racked up a lot of wrist slaps from the Judge. Robert was never even called to the stand. My guess is because he can undue everything the super fan said. Spirit band member already undid what he said in cross examination. Unless there is a picture of Robert Plant intently listening and holding tape recorder while Taurus is being played, than I think it was a waste of time to call on super fan as a witness. And as far as the music experts brought on for the plaintiff. They are opinions only and not fact. The one said the two song openings were like 'one song' then he completely changed his tune and told Anderson I can tell these are two different pieces. Well shit I hope so, otherwise you're tone deaf and should not be on the stand for this trial giving your 'musical expert opinion I wrote this in a hurry so I hope it makes sense.
