  1. The Who are coming to Rochester on July 16th. If you want to call them the Who. No Ox or Moon. I saw them back in the day , indoors at the old Aud in Buffalo, and outdoors in Toronto. I remember us sneaking in a huge container of Gin and tonic and had plenty to pass around. It was a great concert. I just saw the prices. $68 for lawn and $218 for side stage and about $237 center stage. The venue is not that big so its going to sell fast. I think they went on sale today
  2. I think they made it back in the 80s? That may be the last time I remember Scotland being in? Alot of qualifiers in the coming days. If I had to make one pick it would be Mexico to take Costa Rica down. Mexico never takes any game lightly. And I expect them to be a force in the upcoming world cup in 18.
  3. So chime in and tell me how significant this match between England and Germany is tomorrow? Will the top units be out there? Will Vardy play for England? Is this considered a World Cup qualifier? PS. I see the Scotch team are favored by a goal over Canada. Not a real surprise. But I wonder if Scotland will make it in this year?
  4. Blizzard conditions. 14 inches of snow over night. A nightmare.
  5. The major prep races are on the horizon to determine who will be in this years Kentucky Derby. So will e have a repeat of 1977-78? When we had two in a row? I think its highly unlikely but who knows. I mean a triple crown winner. Last year we had American Pharoah, who was the first to do it in 38 years. AFleet Alex should have and would have if he had a better post. That was on Giacomo day. The day the triple crown was finally won, the NY Goernor Cuomo could not attend as two inmates in Clinton NY escaped from a maximum security penitentiary. Ruining it for Cuomo.
  6. Well did anyone see the news last night and the new planets that were discovered 40 light years away? Its fascinating. And they are going to study these because their distance to the Orange star that is their solar system is about right to support life and hold water. An Orange dwarf is an old star. Red or Orange stars are very old, unlike small blues. Blues are newer. Orion the Hunter, a constellation in the northern hemisphere holds a star known as Beatlejuice. A giant orange that is famous
  7. Lots of Charles Bronson movies on last few days. So after my daily fix of Prison Break I have White Buffalo on, from 1977, the year I saw Led Zeppelin. How different the world was. Death Wish and the Great Escape were on yesterday All the pre game crap is too much for me.
  8. You know if more of your games were like the Everton game, a 6-3 win!!!! Yes, a 9 goal game, more Americans might gain a like for your sport. But every time I start to like it a bit, a 0-0 stinker is tossed my way. That MU vs Hull game was an abomination. A fucking joke. In Prison Break, if you are a fan, in the prison Sona in Panama, the kid with the McGrady shirt is the only Hispanic that prefers the NBA to soccer. More exciting and lots of scoring. In soccer, you have to wake me up from a siesta when a goal is scored. I have always said the offside rule is too strict. If its a guy straddling the defender they need to let it go. LIke in hockey. But they like their 0-0 bullshit sleepers I guess? That is why the World Cup is the only time I really get into the sport. I will say I like the Premier League sometimes. Like when they score in that Everton game. Everton and Tottenham are two teams that score and so too MU. But many of them just put you to sleep.
  9. Wrong, wrong and wrong. Now I picked Everton and they covered and I picked Manchester City. But Manchester United had no business tying Hull, a team they are better than and they played most of the game in their end. Hull did hit the post on a shot but it was lucky development more than any type of breaking down MU's defense. I got it stuck in my ass as I had EVerton plus a half (winner), MC -1 (winner) and MU -1 1 /2 (loser) and my patience for soccer is deteriorating by the minute
  10. I would rank them about the same as or just a touch under Liverpool. But strange for me to see Everton a slight underdog tomorrow to Stoke? What is up with that? Everton like Tottenham, before today at least, can put the ball in the net. Manchester City should win tomorrow. it looks like Chelsea will be tough to beat but Liverpool tied them. I still think deep down that Manchester United might be the best. Tottenham was my earlier choice but now I am not sure about them either. Leicester City has surely fell from grace and fallen hard. So Chelsea, MU, MC, Tottenham all seem tough. Southampton has been very good of late. just in case nobody has noticed. Tomorrow, I put in a small 3 team parlay. Manchester City -1, Everton +1/2 and Manchester United -1 1/2. I had to buy MU down from -2. Otherwise they would have to win by 3 to cover. They just might. Hull was not that bad but I think they got whacked pretty good last out and to a low level team? 3-1 if memory serves me correct? No match for United. Lets see if Rooney has some more magic left. You know the USA has given the Premier League a regular spot now on NBC. And they are on national TV on Saturday and Wed. Not bad. Our city of Rochester was supposed to get an MLS team. They built a stadium for the Rhino's and then they stuck their middle finger up at us and left us in the minor jerk off league. I saw them play the Chicago Fire at the old stadium where the minor league baseball team plays now. I will never go to a game unless they join the MLS. They could outdraw most major cities and would have Buffalo and Syracuse to also draw fans. I notice during your games over there you have that website advertised on the screens. Bet365 or something like that? I went there but they wont allow US members to join. This country sucks. I am happy that the UK is kicking that SOB out of their country!!!! I wish we had Teresa May.
  11. I am watching Premier League here in the States. Liverpool and Chelsea just kicked off. What in the devil are they singing? I was watching Watford as they scored early on Arsenal but that would be an upset if it held up. I have my money on Tottenham minus a goal and a half. At Sunderland. Yikes. Hoping they don't stink up the joint like Saturday. The game before they were on fire. Tottenham are my pick to win this damn thing. we shall see. I have always kind of liked Chelsea but I really like Vardy and LC until their recent unraveling. They look pretty messed up of late. Probably still celebrating last year. OK, Go Tottenham!!!!!
  12. The show I was at was almost a nightmare. Some asshole shot a flare rocket a the stage and Plant's shirt caught fire. I really thought they would walk off stage. I mean it was a few chords into "The Song Remains the Same", the opening song, and if this had happened to the Stones they would have been gone. I remember the Stones walking off the stage in Buffalo after an hour and a half and they took the stage around dinner time in upstate NY> Maybe around 5pm and the sun was still out when they walked off. To this day I do not know why they did that shit. This was the Some Girls tour Back to the Zeppelin concert I was at, my point was that I got to see and hear them perform pretty much all of their best as the concerts before 77 did not have PG. No Kashmir. No In My Time of Dying, and Achilles Last Stand, etc.
  13. This tour had Physical Graffiti and Presence included!!!!!! No way the worst. And of course it was the night of Memorial Day 1977 that I had my only chance to see them live. It was one of the best shows ever according to many reviews here. Two nights after Jimmy was carried off the stage so he made up for that. It was 3 1/2 hours of magic
  14. I agree totally and anyone that would shoot and elephant or a Lion should be shot himself. Like that asshole dentist. I hope they really crack down on these bastards and stop the poaching for Ivory and for Tiger's and such. These animals will go extinct if we do not step up and protect them. It CAN happen. It has happened. Maybe many not due to humans but extinction has no morals or favorites. We have to protect Elephants, Tigers, Rhino's, Whales, Florida Panther's and Manatee's and Gorilla's. i know there are more than I have listed. Polar Bears also.
  15. Yeah rub it in. Fucking NY my windows are sealed with plastic.
  16. Well if you have not heard, go to the baseball thread as Ventura, the KC Royals pitcher was killed in a car accident last night in the Dominican REp.
  17. I played a parlay and took Burnley with two goals and also Hull with 2. But I made the mistake of taking Leiceser City. I am really surprised by that score vs Southampton. I guess they have really fallen hard
  18. I believe Tottenham can be the champion. I was a bit surprised by the performance by Man City. The terrible goalie mistakes however were the only reason they had a 2-0 lead and the only reason Tottenham did not win. I will take Hotspur any time and any where
  19. I still can't see Everton losing to CP. We have seen Liverpool go down and MU is in trouble. I like Tottenham big. To smash City.
  20. Well Leicester City got hammered. I disagree on Everton. We shall see. I expect a high scoring game. I am going to say 4-3 Everton
  21. Well the two teams I have always like the most clash tomorrow. I am for Leicester City to win. Or even draw. Once again they have proven they are no pushover. I am expecting a 3-3 type of game between Everton and Manchester City? Do you all agree?
  22. OK. At the Meadowlands tonight the Pan Man has a pick. Race 7 the 6 horse. 8-1 morning line.
