Have to click on the link to see the clip. Wasn't able to post it directly. https://deadline.com/video/becoming-led-zeppelin-watch-the-first-clip-from-new-rock-doc-about-iconic-brit-band-venice-film-festival/ ‘Becoming Led Zeppelin’: Watch The First Clip From New Rock Doc About Iconic Brit Band Venice Film Festival Andreas Wiseman | International Editor September 4, 2021 EXCLUSIVE: Here’s your first clip for anticipated rockumentary Becoming Led Zeppeling, which is debuting today at the Venice Film Festival. Directed by Bernard MacMahon (American Epic) and co-written and produced by Allison McGourty, the film chronicles band members Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, Robert Plant and the late John Bonham. The movie will reveal the individual journeys of the four members of the band as they move through the music scene of the 1960s, playing small clubs throughout Britain and performing some of the biggest hits of the era, until their meeting in the summer of 1968 for a rehearsal that changes their lives forever. Their four journeys merge into one as they set out to conquer America on a rollercoaster ride that culminates in 1970 when they become the No. 1 band in the world. The iconic group is best known for anthemic rock tracks including Good Times Bad Times, Whole Lotta Love, Immigrant Song and Stairway To Heaven. Producers of the movie say it is the first time the surviving band members have participated in a documentary in 50 years. Altitude Film Sales and Submarine Entertainment are co-repping sales. MacMahon said of the film: “With Becoming Led Zeppelin my goal was to make a documentary that looks and feels like a musical. I wanted to weave together the four diverse stories of the band members before and after they formed their group with large sections of their story advanced using only music and imagery and to contextualize the music with the locations where it was created and the world events that inspired it. I used only original prints and negatives, with over 70,000 frames of footage manually restored, and devised fantasia sequences, inspired by Singin’ In The Rain, layering unseen performance footage with montages of posters, tickets and travel to create a visual sense of the freneticism of their early career.” MacMahon’s debut film, American Epic, won the Audience Award at the Sydney International Film Festival and his musical The American Epic Sessions won both the Audience Award and Discovery Award at the Calgary International Film Festival and a Grammy.

MacMahon has today (August 2) confirmed the film’s title, Becoming Led Zeppelin, and announced that work on the documentary has been completed. “Becoming Led Zeppelin is a film that no one thought could be made,” MacMahon said in a statement. “The band’s meteoric rise to stardom was swift and virtually undocumented. “Through an intense search across the globe and years of restoration of the visual and audio archive found, this story is finally able to be told.” Becoming Led Zeppelin is the first time that Led Zeppelin have participated in a documentary in 50 years, with the band granting MacMahon “unprecedented access” for the film. 11. Done, great news!! I've copy/pasted the full article from Variety: Led Zeppelin Documentary, With Unprecedented Access to Band, Has Been Completed “American Epic” director Bernard MacMahon has revealed the title of his long-awaited and recently completed Led Zeppelin feature documentary: “Becoming Led Zeppelin.” The project, which was first announced in 2019, has unprecedented access to the band, marking the first and only time the group has participated in a documentary in 50 years. Though 1976 doc “The Song Remains the Same” centred on the band, that was largely a concert film of a series of Madison Square Garden performances in 1973. “’Becoming Led Zeppelin’ is a film that no one thought could be made,” said MacMahon. “The band’s meteoric rise to stardom was swift and virtually undocumented. Through an intense search across the globe and years of restoration of the visual and audio archive found, this story is finally able to be told.” A release date hasn’t yet been set for the pic. Altitude Film Sales and Submarine Entertainment will be co-repping sales. The film includes new interviews with Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and John Paul Jones, as well as rare archival interviews with the late John Bonham, who died in 1980. The film features never-before-seen archive film and photographs, state-of-the-art audio transfers of the band’s music and the music of other artists who shaped their sound. When the project was first announced, Page said: “When I saw everything Bernard had done both visually and sonically on the remarkable achievement that is ‘American Epic,’ I knew he would be qualified to tell our story.” First formed in London in 1968, the English rock band is best known for hits including “Stairway to Heaven,” “Good Times Bad Times” and “The Immigrant Song,” and are considered one of the most influential rock bands in history.
  12. Legends Ralph Fiennes and Robert Plant spotted in Malvern on the same day By Tom Banner THEATRE goers in Malvern will have caught a glimpse of two famous faces in the town on the same day this week. Legendary actor Ralph Fiennes and acclaimed musician Robert Plant were both in the town for their respective shows. Malvern Theatres shared a photo of the two stars, saying: "When legends meet, magic happens. "Acting royalty Ralph Fiennes and rock legend Robert Plant both performed at Malvern Theatres last night. What a night." Fiennes has been in Malvern starring and directing an adaptation of T.S. Eliot's Four Quartets. The production was at Malvern Theatres from July 19 to 24, after which it will hit the West End in November. Four Quartets follows the theme of nature of time, faith, and the quest for spiritual enlightenment. Mostly written during WWII when the closure of playhouses during the Blitz interrupted Eliot’s work in theatre, the four parts (Burnt Norton, East Coker, The Dry Salvages and Little Gidding) were the culminating achievement of Eliot’s Nobel Prize winning literary career. Former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant was in Malvern for Saving Grace with Suzi Dian at Malvern Theatres. https://www.worcesternews.co.uk/news/19464383.legends-ralph-fiennes-robert-plant-spotted-malvern-day/
  13. Robert Plant Performs First Post-Pandemic Concert With Saving Grace Former Led Zeppelin lead singer took the stage with his new band for the first time since 2019 Robert Plant appeared onstage for his first post-pandemic show on Monday night in Worthington, England, performing with his band Saving Grace for the first time since 2019. Originally scheduled to tour the U.S. in March 2020, Saving Grace’s plans fell through with the pandemic, and Plant and company are now finishing up the remainder of their United Kingdom shows that were postponed due to Covid. Onstage, the former Led Zeppelin lead singer was joined by vocalist Suzy Dian, mandolinist and guitar player Tony Kelsey, banjo and guitar player Matt Worley, and percussionist Oli Jefferson for a set that included traditional folk songs and a mix of modern covers, including a rendition of Donovan’s “Season of the Witch.” Saving Grace’s U.K. tour, which runs through early August, includes several stops in Plant’s home of West Midlands county. “In the days when I first starting performing around the Black Country, it was very evident that each area was its’ own community/little town … and each community had its own venue: Dudley Town Hall, Stourbridge Town Hall, Regis Hall, Brierley Hill Civic, Old Hill Plaza, Tipton Baths, Queen Mary Ballroom,” Plant said in an interview with Dudley News earlier this month. “I played them all, mostly as a kid opening for the likes of the Hollies, Jean Vincent, Screaming Lord Such, the Fourmost … and others. So, with our band, Saving Grace, it’s for me a bit of a reminiscence to play the various communities from where we all hail.” https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/robert-plant-first-post-pandemic-concert-saving-grace-1199499/
