  1. I prefer their early stuff like Substitute etc and Who's Next. Live At Leeds in my top five live albums. After Moon and Entwhistle it ain't The Who anymore, nowadays it's more a case of Who's Left. As for PT being the best lyricist there are plenty better. John Lennon for example. I went off Townshend a bit after the kids porn episode and the lame excuse he came up with regarding "research". Coincidentally, one of the characters in Tommy (Uncle Ernie) was a pedophile? If he was in fact researching for a book or whatever, where is it? Maybe it will surface one day but some how I doubt it. Still a great songwriter and gave us many great tunes.
  2. Don't know about that, I have both and I know what I prefer to use.
  3. Guitar World 2011 Calendars. http://secure.nps1.net/guitarworld/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9&products_id=159&utm_source=zakkax7&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=gw-list&utm_source=calszakk&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=gw-list
  4. I just got a call for a job interview next Tuesday. I've been unemployed for about 4 weeks so this is something positive after all the applications I submitted.
  5. Hey Aqua, I realised after I posted them that the first pic was actually the finish of a song so that's why it seems like there is a lack of enthusiasm!
  6. You blokes have got to grow a sense of humour. There was no malice involved, just a joke about a book being in a library!? I can't find the part (in my OP), where I intended to hurt your feelings or ridicule you. Cheers. And enjoy the book!
  7. I hear what you're saying it's like picking your favourite child not an easy thing to do as they all have their own special qualities and personalities. I quite like Manic Nirvana and Now & Zen too.
  8. Hey Carlos,

I used to work with someone called Carlos Delgado here in Australia.

  9. Good Effort but my fave is Principle Of Moments particularly Wreckless Love.
  10. I was on my way home from after playing a gig yesterday and they had been playing Physical Graffiti in its entirety on the radio. I caught from TYG to Sick Again.
  11. This show. http://tvrage.com/Co...s/episode_list/ I was watching the Rugby League finals on TV last Saturday night between the Canberra Raiders and the Penrith Panthers at Penrith and after an ad break The Immigrant Song came on. Interestingly the Raiders (the mascot is a Viking), are based near the Snowy Mountains so it was appropriate lyrically either by design or accident. BTW the Raiders won.
  12. My mate scored tickets Saturday morning and I've not long gotten home from one of the best double headers you'll ever see.
  13. My mate rang me a few minutes ago and we're going to see Rodger Hodgson & 10cc tonight at the Enmore theatre. A great little venue about 3000 seater.
  14. If I can score a ticket, next week Roger Hodgson (Supertramp) & 10cc double header! I saw both bands in the '70's and they are in my top 5 live concerts.
  15. Probably just taking the piss. He is partially right because Jimmy's plan was to form a power trio of guitars and drums based on Cream and Jimi's bands even though he never saw Hendrix perform. Only thing was JP & JPJ couldn't sing! And no drummer. Enter Plant & Bonham and they expanded with Jones' keyboards and the rest is history. Much the same as Pink Floyd, post Syd Barrett.
  16. Sydney Showground 1882 - 1997. The Royal Agriculture Society arena event that became known as The Royal Easter Show at Moore Park until it was re-developed as Fox Studios and relocated to Olympic Park at Homebush. I'm somewhere in the group shot of the crowd at 0.17. Led Zeppelin 1972, were the first of a short list of performers to play there along with Abba 1977 and Kiss 1980. Not until 1992 did concerts reappear at the venue. Presented as The Big Day Out the inaugaral event (the first year was Sydney only), with The Violent Femmes as the headliners. Rage Against The Machine played at the last Big Day Out in 1997.
  17. Going by the date of the concert they travelled back in time!
  18. I was watching a rerun episode of F Troop called From Karate With Love. A Japanese girl runs away from her father and is being pursued by a Samurai warrior. She is performing the traditional Tea Ceremony for Captain Parmenter and after serving him started to play a Japanese folk song on a Sanshin or Shamisen to which he asked "what it is it called?" She replied, "Tea For One".
  19. Australia vs. West Indies 50 over day / nighter at The G (Melbourne Cricket Ground). Interesting guest list and I like the connection. Graham Gouldman 10CC wrote The Yardbirds songs For Your Love, Heartful Of Soul and Evil Hearted You. Jeff Beck joined The Yardbirds following Claptons departure back to The Blues from Pop Rock.
