  1. Does anyone remember this magazine and is it still available? I'm missing Vol 1 No's. 2 & 3. Note that Vol 3 No.3 is printed as No. 4!? The autographs are printed, not original.
  2. Who needs impersonators, period!? Give me the real thing or give me nothing! Seriously, I enjoy playing and hearing other bands playing covers from their influences and "tribute" bands etcetera up to a point but this obsession with trying to BE them is creepy, unhealthy and shows a great lack of self esteem, IMO. Another gem from the land of karaoke. Translation; Drunken fool with microphone trying to sing. Yes, I've been pissed enough in the past (before iPhone videos etc.) to attempt it, but was too drunk to remember the (bad) experience and thankfully nothing was ever documented although my "friends" have still reminded me of it over the years.
  3. Sydney: Sunny & Hot 42C - 108F Queensland: Evacuations are under way as severe tropical cyclone Yasi continues its charge towards the north Queensland coast. On Tuesday morning, Yasi was still well out to sea but had intensified to a severe category three system. It's expected to cross the coast as a severe category four, with winds gusting up to 250km/h - 155m/h, very late on Wednesday night into Thursday morning. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/8204423/evacuations-begin-ahead-of-cyclone-yasi

  5. True but until recently we always approached Tests with that one day mentality, that is, get runs from the first ball and put pressure on the bowlers and the Poms have adopted the same attitude and turned it all around in the last two series. The next few games will be interesting given they will be the toughest lead up games for both teams going into the world cup in the West Indies. The pressure will be on Australia where every team will lift to avoid us winning a fourth straight title.
  6. Watson was brilliant. Where was this a month ago!?
  7. A friend of mine from Texas sent me Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience New York show on DVD and it is terrific!
  8. John Butler is American, so you should be thanking them!

  10. Always. The media well, they are another matter.
  11. Go girl! What's shakin' Jules? Gough Whitlam in for three years then shafted by Malcolm Frazer and John Kerr on Remembrance Day 11-11-1975. He's still going, at 94! If it wasn't for him hundreds of young men would've been called up (drafted for our American friends) and possibly sent to Vietnam, myself included. Up until the election in December 1972 I had accepted the fact that my lottery number would come up and was prepared to go in to the "Natios" (National Service) if required. However, I'm not disappointed it didn't happen. My year 1972: February: Seen Led Zeppelin August: Turned 19 December: Conscription abolished
  12. Good one fellas! Q: What is the difference between an Australian fielder and a condom? A: One drops a catch and the other catches a drop. Make the most of it for the next 18 months or so until we go over there and we'll see who has the last laugh! Well done to the Poms and it must make a nice change to be winners again particularly away from home, finally, after 20 odd years. Don't get too carried away, SA will be hard to beat anywhere and India aren't pushovers either with their "concrete" pitches and they play well away too. Complacency can be as big a factor in winning or losing, just as much as the opposition. Good luck and remember we will be watching you!

  16. It'll take a miracle for this test end in a draw. We've only got to bat or it rains for the best part of two days! Congratulations to England clearly the better side in three of the tests so far and well deserved retainers of the Olde Urn. Why wasn't Strauss made captain before this series? Sydney is vital as there is pride at stake here and a loss or draw is not an option! I hope they don't make wholesale changes to the squad and that the selectors have a long hard look at themselves.
  17. Melbourne is prone to southerly changes bringing rain from Antarctica and they are up on previous years too.
  18. There's a lot of rain about at the moment particularly on the east coast. A cyclone up in north east Queensland.
  19. Not the ideal start but only day one still a lot of time yet to go, weather permitting. The way this series is going it wouldn't surprise if it ends in a draw culminating with a final winner take all Sydney test. We shall see.
  20. In UK's The Guardian Ashes report. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2010/dec/19/ashes-2010-australia-england
  21. One all. It's set up an interesting match in Melbourne. As England only have to draw the series to retain the Ashes it remains to be seen if they keep on playing as positive as they have been or start losing confidence and shut up shop One thing the series has highlighted is the bowling and the sporadic batting from both sides. While it's good to post a high score, it can create the situation of scoring too many runs and by occupying the crease for extended periods it gives the opposition an opportunity to play for a draw, unless of course they are bowled out. Just when you think one side is on top someone steps up and dominates with the bat or ball and the whole game turns. Loving this!
  22. Bring him along too it's a family friendly pub! There's a playground area for the kids. No new venue as yet.
  23. Hey Jules! Maybe you and Rod can make it to The Prospect on Sunday. The second last jam, ever! It'd be great to catch up with you two.
