Green Day to perform at Jets opener

The New York Jets announced Friday that the band Green Day will perform at half time of their season opening game Monday Sept. 13 against the Baltimore Ravens.

The game will be the Jets first in their new stadium, The New Meadowlands, which they share with the New York Giants Giants. Green Day will perform with the Broadway cast of the musical American Idiot.

Slash, the guitarist from the band Guns N' Roses will perform pregame, as will singer Myles Kennedy. Also appearing in the pregame concert will be Nicole Scherzinger, the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls, and Jason Bonham of Led Zeppelin fame.

The Jets and Ravens will play at 7:00 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on ESPN.

Saw Slash with Myles earlier this summer and it was one of the best damn shows I've ever seen. I hope those two do a whole album together in the not too distant future.
