Wolfman Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 What a cool show! I've never seen Alice live and being a big horror movie fan made this concert even cooler. Lots of nasty sideshows and blood: Alice gets decapitated, Alice gets hung by a girl he earlier strangled behind a screen (through silhouettes), he is put in straight jacket, he impaled one his many stage executioners with a large spike, his executioners impaled him with a large syringe during "Poison", during "Feed My Frankenstein" a large green monster (a hairy version of the cyclops from Jason and the Argonauts) came out with the Bride of Frankenstein, he threw fake jewelry out during "Dirty Diamonds", threw out several canes, threw out fake $100 bills with Alice's face on them from the sharp sword he carried, used that sword to cut off a baby's head and popped large confetti filled balloons at end, was also impaled by a wall of spikes, had a sexy nurse do a striptease, he sang to a dead woman while he held her in his arms and proceeded to bodyslam her, and much more I'm forgetting. But the show is NOT all about gimmicks because the band is awesome. Led by the very talented Keri Kelli on lead guitar, the band also consists of Jimmy Degrasso on drums, Chuck Garric on bass (AWESOME), and Damon Johnson on guitar. Alice's band can jam and all took turns doing some nice solos. I met Keri after the show while eating at the H.O.B. and he was a very friendly guy. I must note he also had a very large Swan Song logo on the back of his jean jacket vest. Alice's voice sounded great and he obviously has lots of fun doing this stuff. How could you not? It was Halloween with great music. It might my first Alice but not my last. Btw, I think the coolest job in the world would be paid to "kill" Alice on stage every night. Keri told me some of these guys have been with Alice for over thirty years. Can't blame them. bigzepfan Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Awesome review of the show I was in A/C but came home early so I missed the show. I've seen him many many times, about fifteen, but every year is such a great time. He is truly the master of shock rock. And even in his sixties still rocks it out every night. Go Alice! I met Keri in the elevator of the turning stone casino the morning after the show. My friend and I didn't notice who it was and asked him if he saw the killer show last night. He was like yeah, I'm the guitarist. then the door opened and he got out. We both stood there with our mouths hanging open. Glad to see he's still doing Dwight Fry. Hopefully he laid right down on the floor and screamed I gotta get out of here! instead of standing and singing it(he did that once, maybe he wasn't feeling good that night). I wish he would do just one tune from either Constrictor or Raise Your Fist and Yell. They were his heaviest two albums imo. Now that I'm home I'm bumming that I didn't see him. This is the first tour i've missed in many many. Quote

Jahfin Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Even though Killer is one of the very first records I ever owned as a kid back in the 70s, it wasn't until last year that I saw Alice Cooper in concert. A DVD of a show (Hammersmith Odeon) from his current Theatre of Death Tour is due out on the 28th. Quote

Chowder Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I wish he would do just one tune from either Constrictor or Raise Your Fist and Yell. They were his heaviest two albums imo. Good call on Raise Your Fist. He should play the whole of side 2 as a continuous piece. Those were his best songs since the orginal band split, IMO. Alice was my very first hero, and School's Out was the first album I ever bought, complete with the white paper panties which made it look like a black girl's butt inside the desk. In art class, we once had to draw our heroes. I did my best to make Alice as gruesome as possible, but it obviously didn't work, as our old fart teacher thought it was Sophia Loren. Poor Sophia. I did a meet and greet last year and told him I'm from the Kingston NY area which is where Kane Roberts is from and that my first Alice show was: Alice at the Palace in Albany, NY. I used to go see Kane in a bar on broadway when I was still in high school. I can't think of the name of the band but they played a song called Condition Red. Kerri is good. He did an awesome spanish guitar solo two years ago but they dropped it last year from the show. Edited September 7, 2010 by bigzepfan Quote

SteveAJones Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 That's a big ol' slice of classic rock! Great stage presence. Quote
