Magic Fills the Air
I just spotted another Jimmy Page book on ebay (link below). The copies we pre-ordered seem cheap in comparison. It makes me wonder why the people bidding just didn't buy one directly from Genesis and save themselves a small fortune. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Jimmy-Page-DeLuxe-Genesis-Book-Signed-Led-Zeppelin-/280606844526?pt=Antiquarian_Collectible&hash=item415578a66e

Why not just buy tickets the day they go on sale? They're much cheaper and my luck has been pretty good with that in regards to scoring good seats. The book sold out in the blink of an eye, and long before some first heard of it being available.

Magic Fills the Air
The book sold out in the blink of an eye, and long before some first heard of it being available. That's true. I expect for that reason the deluxe edition will always be worth significantly more than the collector's edition, even though it's exactly the same book. BlackDog71
Awesome book with a not-so-awesome price. I guess I will just have to dream of owning these kind of books.

jsj
there were more people wanting a copy than have been produced and no doubt those who missed out on getting a copy direct from genesis and REALLY still want one, going via ebay is the only option left. there is also the suspicion that some who acquired one, bought a second with the intention of selling it to pay for the first plus a small profit on top. that's the way i would have done it. one thing for sure is that they're only going to increase in price on ebay in years to come for those who bought it purely as an investment to sell, and for those who did miss out and want one, buy it now before the prices get really silly
