Bayougal65
I know often I come across lyrics that just make my jaw drop. What are some of your favorites? And why? I will start.. I love Jack White's new album Blunderbuss, and "Weep Themselves to Sleep" has crept up on me as a favorite due to the lyrics and phrasing! I think Jack is genius! Lyrics:Weep themselves to Sleep by Jack White No one can blow the shows Or throw the bones that break your nose like I can But the men that fall so deep In love they start to weep themselves to sleep can And the men who'll fight the world And love the girl that tried to hold her hands behind them They won’t be left behind By time or any rules that try to bind them Nobody knows just how it goes To show that the villain will play the victim The kings can check the reigns And deem the knives of brains that mean to kill
TypeO
I'm pretty blown away by a lot of Amy Winehouse's lyrics. Her lyrics are so personal and intimate, much in the same way as those of Trent Reznor on Pretty Hate Machine. From What Is It About Men? It's bricked up in my head, it's shoved under my bed And I question myself again, "What is it about men?" My destructive side has grown a mile wide And speaking of Trent Reznor, I love the lyrics from Terrible Lie - You made me throw it all away. My morals left to decay. How many you betray. You've taken everything. Terrible lie. My head is filled with disease. My skin is begging you please. I'm on my hands and knees. I want so much to believe.
