Can you guys give me other great modern blues / rock mix groups that do it as good, or as close to Zeppelin/ZZ Top good as you can get? Thanks guys! Charles J. White
Living Colour had that swagger with a blues base in it, The Tea Party, there is a bunch of stuff out there. Aerosmith as well

Kiwi_Zep_Fan87
Apart from the bands that have already been mentioned, another band that comes to mind, with regard to the aspect of modernizing the blues, is California based outfit, Canned Heat. Kiwi_Zep_Fan87
I have been thinking about this thread for quite sometime now and I think it is appropriate to include the band Delta Deep in the list. True that they are a fairly new band, but nonetheless, they deserve to be heard and they have indeed (IMO) modernized the blues:

FYI to the op, 'Stop Breaking Down' and 'Death Letter' are in fact Robert Johnson and Son House covers, respectively.

Strider
I cannot believe nobody has mentioned the Paul Butterfield Blues Band! They, as much as anyone, inspired the blues-rock explosion in the 60s with both Michael Bloomfield and Elvin Bishop on guitars. A huge direct influence on Cream, Zeppelin, and everyone after. Delta Deep is pretty damned good! They are indeed! Glad you liked the music that I posted! Delta Deep released their self-titled debut album on the 23rd of June, last year and I think you'll love the album! Debbie Blackwell Cook is a brilliant vocalist and just adds to the emotion of it all, that is so critical to the Blues!

Kiwi_Zep_Fan87
I would also like to add the band Dorothy to the mix! They are a fairly new band and will be releasing their full length debut album on the 24th of June, this year. I got to know of their incredibly hard hitting blues rock style, late last year. They released a killer self-titled EP, which I am proud to say that I purchased! Check out the following songs. Highly recommended!
