Paimonus Rex Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 What actual amp/cab or simulator are you using? Quote
SteveZ98 Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 You'll probably get more responses to this thread if you move it to the Musician's Corner section of the site that's dedicated to this type of stuff: https://forums.ledzeppelin.com/forum/17-musician39s-corner/ Quote

Scores out of 10 I guess.... 😉 I mean, if you're going to give people amp settings for Jimmy first you've got to specify: Is it live tone, or the tone used on an album for a specific song? If it's live: what year? what amp? (WEM, Rickenbacker, Supro, Vox, Marshall, Petersberg, Orange, Fender, etc...) what cabinets? (are they open or close backed? what speakers are in the cabs?) is he using the Tonebender? is he running the guitar through the echoplex first? is he using the Pete Cornish board? just for starters..... The burst is really unique and the finish. Wow! Quote
ADK-Zeppy Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 Hey JM! That really is a very nice set up! If you were to play Page tone without the pedals, would your Origin's e.q. (T, M,B) remain the same? Ahh, no pun intended. I use an Orange Dark Terror with two Les Pauls and it only has a “shape” knob for its e.q. I have that knob set so that the e.q. curve would most likely approximate what you have. Myamp is similar (it just so happens) to your's.....just below half on the gain. I don't think Page used much in the way of gain, but relied on sheer volume to make his “point”. Perhaps his use of a Tele in the Yardbirds and early Zep influenced how he set e.q. on his amps with a Les Paul, later on. ADK-Zeppy Quote
JMGuitar Posted April 2, 2020 Author Posted April 2, 2020 Hey, ADK - Zeppy Yes, well the amp has no drive in the amp but has a gain boost. So, if you just play it without pedals it’s clean. Quote
JMGuitar Posted April 2, 2020 Author Posted April 2, 2020 Yeah, and I also have a strat so I can get some early zep stuff. But my les Paul has coil split and out of phase an in phase wiring. 2019 Les Paul Classic - Honeyburst 2019 Squier Classic Vibe Strat - Two Tone Sunburst Quote
