Ian Smith Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 I was driving last night and Thank You came on and damn is that a fine acoustic guitar solo. Just wondering if anyone knows how many Zep tunes had acoustic guitar solos, which ones etc. Any help is always appreciated. Quote
GeorgeC Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Would the flamenco licks in "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" count? And I can hear acoustic guitar leads, or at least clean electric soloing, in "All My Love." Quote
BobDobbs Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 One could consider White Summer / BMS one long acoustic guitar solo but that was never a studio track for Zep so...nevermind 😉 Quote

Other acoustic solos..."Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You", "Boogie with Stu", "Bron-Yr-Aur", "Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp", "Hey, Hey, What Can I Do", "Hats Off to (Roy) Harper". You could also include "Rain Song", "Over the Hills and Far Away", "Going to California" (especially the live versions) as songs that, while not featuring acoustic solos per se, still have much acoustic guitar filagrees. And "Gallows Pole" has acoustic guitar, mandolin, and banjo! Edited February 15, 2022 by Strider Quote
Walter Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Keys To The Highway/Trouble In Mind from the Zep III outtakes album. Great slide Quote

The WS part had some pretty intense runs, BMS was just a melodic progression, no solo. Quote
