I do not consider myself an ignorant about music, dut I don´t seem to find many common things between zepp and hendrix, appart from the riffy kndo of rock they produced.

Hendrix and Led Zeppelin both covered the Beatles.

Hendrix actually played a cover of "Sgt. Pepper's" and Led Zep covered a few Beatles songs (including them early on in a few shows)...

The common thread between Hendrix and Zep, particularly early Zep, is that they both played blues-based acid rock. Another band that helped define the sound was Cream.
