DID LED ZEPPELIN EVER RECORD A BAD ALBUM DURING THEIR REIGN?

Recommended Posts

oh yeah...lessee

bron-y-aur was recorded for LZ3

boogie with stu, down by the seaside, and nightflight i believe were recorded in time for LZ4

the rover, houses of the holy, and black country woman for houses of the holy.

add the other 8.....

so, is PG less of an album because, like coda, it has songs meant for other albums?

just wondering.

No, never a bad album....

Bands like The Who and The Stones (although I love 'em both dearly) reached some glorious heights on many albums, but they put out plenty of clunkers over the years too. Zep maintained a very high standard during their reign, and there really isn't any evidence that they would have ever allowed anything beneath those standards to be released had they been able to continue on.

I think it also helped that they never really had to bow to record company pressure the way many other acts of the day did, they called their own shots. Quality Control was in Jimmy's capable hands, and the guys always brought home the bacon. ALWAYS.
