The following arrangement is slightly different from most you'll find in the books. I wanted to simulate Paul Stokie's upright bass lines. So I added a few chords, not just the usual D.

VERSE 4

I see what you mean! Neil's great! I've only just lately come to appreciate him thanks to movie "Heart Of Gold", "Harvest Moon" and guitar instructor, David Hodge's notes about him. I've always appreciated the acoustic guitar talents of Neil's bandmate Stephen Stills & David Crosby. ("Four And Twenty Years Ago" and whoever played the guitar for "Guinevére") :beer:

Ironbound/Fancy Poultry

by Suzanne Vega¹

B000002GHB01_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg

chords and lyrics

¹In the link there's a difficult chord to fret---"Fadd9". If you so desire, change the fingering of it to my version, easier on the fretting hand, imo. Plus it gives you the desired open G string in the chord.

Hello all! I started working on some Christmas song's for my next gig's in late November and sometime in December.

Blue Christmas

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas

Jingle Bells

Rock'n Around the Christmas tree

Little Drummer Boy

It came upon a midnight clear

Mr Grinch

We wish you a merry Christmas

Mr. Grinch is fairly simple with only a few chord's but the others have some more degree of difficulty but I'll manage, I got two month's to work on them. I don't know if I'll play them at the show in November but, the one's in December for sure!

Chelsea Morning by Joni Mitchell

I do it in standard tuning. But Joni does it in Open D tuning. Lots of her songs are in that particular tuning. Comin' around to her way. haha. Sooo beautiful. I'm just discovering alternate tunings this year, thanks to Jimmy Page and Joni. I've three guitars, only one of them is in standard tuning. (I might purchase a "Taylor" guitar--I hear their necks can withstand many tunings. I might buy the custom Elixirs to go with it) :)

This Flight Tonight

by Joni Mitchell (off of Blue)

This performer's great. You have to tune your guitar to a variation of Open G (low to high--GGDGBD) That low G was a killer for me :o My poor sixth string! See Howard Wright's excellent notes on link below. (capo on 1st fret)

Ya know part of this song's reminiscent of Page's hammer-on riffs :beer:

↑Wow, what a great cover! I wanted instant gratification. I looked the chords up on the internet and found them on "ultimate guitar.com" but the guitarist who tabbed it was missing a few chords, I felt. So I added them--namely the E and F#m. But thanks to that transcriber anyway, for getting me off to a good start. And many thanks to the maestro and his young musicans! :beer:

Any corrections? Please let me know so I can make the adjustments. (Thanks in advance) :yesnod:

I don't know how to play drums or guitar really but I wanted to do like a LZ medley to play it just to relax myself after work, even that technically I'm doing everything wrong, some songs can be still recognized, this is me:

Is just like a tribute from a fan.

Hi! And welcome, LuiZG20! :wave: Thanks, I wish I could play with such ease as that young lady depicted in my above post! Isn't she great?

You're great, too! It's my bedtime so I only viewed like the first 2 min. of your video. I hear some ofHow Many More Times & Tea For One, love that steam train sound! the sixteenth notes! Who says you can't play the guitar? Excellent tribute! :):beer:

I'm currently figuring out an "EZ" piano arrangement version of this beautifully performed piece from the Middle Ages. So far I've scored about 12 measures. It's slow-going :)

LIb9DS.jpg

LYRICS:

There Is No Rose Of Such Virtue

1. There is no rose of such virtue

As is the rose that bear Jesu;

Alleluia.

2. For in this rose contained was

Heaven and earth in little space;

Res miranda.

3. By that rose we may well see

That he is God in persons three,

Pari forma.

4. The angels sungen the shepherds to;

Gloria in excelsis deo;

Gaudeamus.

5. Leave we all this worldly mirth

And follow we this joyful birth;

Transeamus.

A few months ago I bought songbooks for the first two Metallica albums (Kill 'Em All and Ride The Lightning) and have been working the songs on those. If I get frustrated with one, I just move on to another. Also I've been trying to learn Am I Evil? by Diamond Head, Blitzkrieg by Blitzkrieg, Hollywood (Down On Your Luck) by Thin Lizzy, and for the fun of it, One Love by Bob Marley.

Sisotowbell Lane (Off of Song To A Seagull)

by Joni Mitchell

"Sisotowbell Lane, Noah is fixin' the pump in the rain.

He brings us no shame.

We al-ways knew

That he al-ways knew."

(This song uses "California Kitchen" tuning. Not sure why they call it that. It's a very intriguing sound, esp. with that low bass C. Reminds me of harbor bells. Also, some of Joni's other songs use it, e.g., "Ladies Of The Canyon", "Just Like This Train" from Court & Spark, & "Coyote" from Hejira) :)

Early Mornin' Rain

(as covered by Peter, Paul & Mary)

Words & Music by Gordon Lightfoot

(capo on 3rd fret) (Use Travis picking)¹

In the Gearly morning Gmaj7rain, Dwith a Am7dollar in Bmmy Ghand

And an Gaching in my Amheart and my pockets full of Gsand

I'm long way from Amhome, and I Dmiss my loved one Gso.

In the early morning Gmaj7rain,D--and Amno place Bm to Ggo. C, G

¹This edited, new tab (↓)shows a variation of Travis pickin for the B♭(barre) & B♭maj7 chords. Wish it were like Peter's & Paul's. Again, keep in mind that the capo is on 3rd fret. So the G shape you play with the capo on, is really a B♭chord. Likewise for the Gmaj7, really being a B♭maj7. Hope I'm making sense. Sing "F" note.

Hi, sorry, here's (↓) a much better diagram of the guitar picking, a little closer to Peter's & Paul's. :D

  • The last two measures are Cm, by the way, with hammered-on Eb to F notes. (I didn't know how to create the "hammer-on" text yet)
  • The fret numbers are not relative to the capo.
  • Just use the chord shapes (G, etc.) in my above post when you have the capo on Fret III.
  • Again, sorry. Hope you enjoy. :beer:
