  1. As for the next concert I'll be attending it is Ancestors w/ The Fucking Wrath in the same local venue ZanZilla I attended T.F.W with Radio Moscow two nights ago. On October 20. It's actally a record release show for T.F.W. Ancestors
  2. Yep there are many more and there's Tee Pee Records based in New York that every year has a showcase in NY and LA and some of the music I'm sure silvermedalist would like had it been released in the 70s or if he would actually listen to it.
  3. Bad Dream from Brooklyn. Metromix.com Bad Dream don’t play the usual trio-out-of-Brooklyn fare that gets most of the press coverage these days; instead, they jam a heavy psych-blues-doom. Or, as they prefer to put it, “post-sludge, astral blues freak heaviness.” The stripped down lineup channels something like a stoned Black Keys on acid covering Black Sabbath through a standard guitar-bass-drums-vocals setup that pumps out a big, swampy racket. The group’s new four-track EP and solid MySpace cuts should prompt a cool label to sign them post-haste. http://www.myspace.com/baddreambrooklyn
  4. Not really a fan of ether of these two bands but if you like Blood Ceremony you might like Jex Thoth.
  5. Quite a big contrast to the music scene here where I live. There is only one venue here called Zoeys that constantly brings in good music local and artists/bands from elsewhere but it’s mainly a venue for folk/country type stuff but for loud rock shows they are hard to come by. There aren’t really any all-ages venues here. Tomorrow there’s an all ages concert I’m going with Radio Moscow and two local bands playing and hopefully there’s a good turnout so that place can bring in more bands more frequently. I have a couple of Public Enemy cds somewhere haven’t listened to them in a while but I like ‘em.
  6. Nice song did you also see them at that Hopscotch festival? Regardless with those previous bands you mentioned it sounds like a great music festival.
  7. Saw the drummer of Goatsnake play with a band called Sonic Medusa this past March, sounded good can't wait for their debut. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2x1RUa4wzKs
  8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGxFREdBM64 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8M2uq5xPVRY
  9. Witch is great yet to listen their latest album Paralyzed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSCG_xz52y8
  10. Local band out of Ventura I have yet to see them live. They need to tour more not to mention Ventura needs all ages venues.
  11. I have a few albums of Rory good music indeed.
  12. You might like Pentagram similar to Black Sabbath but still different. Their 70s and 80s material is excellent. One of the first doom metal bands. 70s 80s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U69dYa8NHOE
  13. Mariska Veres of Shocking Blue deserves a mention.
  14. Hey Swede I uploaded "Bloodsucker" onto youtube is that alright?

  15. Think I'll try it out but like with last.fm I'll stick with the free account.
  16. User reviews can be helpful sometimes so to is just browsing through sub-genres and then youtubing the bands. Is Spotify similar to Last.fm? Thats what I use. Edit: With last.fm you can stream music and get recommendations based on what you listen to or listen to an artists/bands radio which is streaming music from similar artists/bands.
  17. Btw, since 2000 at least 5200 contemporary folk albums have been released. Not all of those by new artists but many of them yes. http://rateyourmusic.com/genre/Contemporary%20Folk/173
