  1. A bootleg before the first album came out wow, well I did a quick google search and found this source and this. Also I only know of studio outtakes beeing found with the S/T and Master of Reality from the Sanctuary issues last year.
  2. I have it from a 1970 bootleg called John Peel's Sunday Show Radio Session. You said basically what I said earlier in this thread except for the live comment. Great up to the Sabotage album then were great again with RJD different but still great none the less. I was pretty shocked when I heard a song off a bootleg with Black Sabbath playing "Blue Suede Shoes." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uryWJ1T1q4
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIPlSVN1hk4 "Walpurgis" later known as "War Pigs" same music vastly different lyrics. Witches gather at black masses Bodies burning in red ashes On the hill the church in ruin Is the scene of evil doings It's a place for all bad sinners Watch them eating dead rat's innards I guess it's the same where ever you may go Oh Lord yeah Carry banners which denounce the lord See me rocking in my grave See them anoint my head with dead rat's blood See them stick the stake through me Oh Don't hold me back cause I've just gotta go They've got a hold of my soul now Lords got my brain instinct with blood obscene Look in my eyes I'm there enough Yeah On the scene a priest appears Sinners falling at his knees Satan sends out funeral pyre Casts the priest into the fire It's the place for all bad sinners Watch them eating dead rats' innards I guess it's the same whereever you may go Oh lord yeah
  4. Deep Purple In Rock album was released 40 years ago today well June 1970. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDBc2AxKmXg
  5. Celtic Frost, Motörhead inspired heavy fucking metal.
  6. Wow! I will also be seeing Roky Erickson with Okkervil River in Los Angeles at a venue called Mayan Theater, May 18. Roky Erickson!
  7. Radio Moscow Psychedelic blues rock band. Woohoo! Gonna see this band in a couple of weeks.
  8. The Atomic Bitchwax Danava Witch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKcvPwHyJpo
  9. Black Pyramid Doom metal from Northampton, MA. Wicked Minds Heavy psych from Italy.
  10. I just found out that Radio Moscow will be one of the openers which is amazing. They're a psychedelic blues rock band with two great albums that they have released.
  11. Pentagram March 20, 2010 At the Ultraviolet Social Club, Los Angeles Don't know who the openers are gonna be, but hopefully some great bands. Bobby Liebling, Doom!
  12. I recently ordered from Amazon.com Rock Hasta Que Se Ponga El Sol, a video of Buenos Aires Rock Festival 1972, great performances and about the only good footage of these bands. Here's a performance from the DVD.
  13. I don't want to come off as a jerk, but you quoted something from early 2008, just sayn' the issue had already been put to rest.
  14. Vinyl: The Band - The Band AC/DC - Highway To Hell John Mayall - The Turning Point NRPS - Gypsy Cowboy NRPS - Best Of
  15. I will also recommend Live At The Old Quarter, the music is great. The feel of the album is very warm, and you'll be in treat to some fine jokes by him. I also have Our Mother the Mountain, and would highly recommend getting that one as well.
  16. Levon Helm comes to mind. Throat cancer in the late 1990's, beating it, singing once again at the Midnight Ramble in 2004, and releasing two great albums soon after.
  17. 5th Avenue Vampires, Dennis Dunaway is in the band. http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=158172753734 www.myspace.com/fifthavenuevampires Richie Scarlet (guitar, vocals), Russ Wilson (DDP - drums), Joe Von T (vocals), DD (bass, vocals). http://rockassdick.blogspot.com/2009/09/5th-avenue-vampires-live-dates.html
  18. I've read that his voice has held up quite well, if he plays in L.A. I might go see him and would also be my first time seeing him.
  19. Black Sabbath is amazing! First six albums are perfect at least for me. They lost their "magic" with the last two Ozzy-era albums but were re-energized with Dio. They only released one official live album of the band in their prime with Ozzy on vocals (Past Lives), but there are some great bootlegs out there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BkhtJM8CqE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRhZISswW_k This is kind of funny.
  20. Early Alice Cooper. My favorite albums are Killer and Billion Dollar Babies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRHFIVJtqpc
