  1. So perhaps Eddie Van Halen was just 16 years old when he first saw Led Zeppelin perform live in Los Angeles? I wonder when he began to play clubs. It was not unusual for sixteen and seventeen year olds to frequent the music scene in Hollywood during the sixties and seventies.
  2. So the photo at the Rainbow of John Bonham with the band was taken in another year besides 1972? You know the one where the band is sitting at the table and Robert Plant is glaring at the girl next to him? What year was that taken?
  3. Maybe it was on the celebration of John Bonham's 24th birthday, May 31, 1972? Eddie Van Halen grew up locally so he would have heard about the Rainbow; it seems he may have seen Led Zeppelin in concert in Los Angeles in 1971.
  4. Eddie Van Halen did say so himself apparently, but he did not state that he met John Bonham in 1979, although Jas Obrecht of Guitar Player Magazine interviewed Eddie Van Halen in 1979. Perhaps Eddie Van Halen met John Bonham in 1972.
  5. Eddie Van Halen was just one of the local guitarists, Steve.
  6. You could say that those of us who lived in Southern California had heard of Van Halen certainly at some point.
  7. Sometimes people merely come to California to exploit the markets and be rude.
  8. Jimmy Page sounded fine when I went to see him in concert in the nineties.
  9. Spanking wears me out, and their misbehaviour may continue despite the effort. Usually I concentrate on brainwashing them into being perfect angels.
  10. I probably should see a movie this weekend; maybe if I get over this sneezing, coughing, aching, tired bug that's been plaguing me this week.
  11. There is a scene in the Blues Brothers film when the guys have an unfortunate run-in with one of the nuns; Jake, may he rest in peace, and his brother, Elwood, have been recovering ever since.
  12. It's not merely a parental responsible to protect children from crime; the state enforces the criminal law.
  13. Maybe we can look forward to a future of separate websites, one for the grown-ups, and one for the underaged, similar to having water safety, a swimming pool meant for the adults, and a children's pool meant for those who are too young; two official forums each designed for different age groups.
  14. Internet safety and censorship are related topics; if as you say the administrator had intended to post a thread merely to inform, it would have been designed to prevent comment other than a contact email.
  15. If the administrator of the board had intended to restrict debate on this topic, it would have been posted in a manner obviously designed to stop debate.
  16. Sometimes Page's bow looks a bit frayed; maybe for lack of rosin?
  17. Actually, plenty of discussion on the issue of internet safety and censorship has taken place.
  18. It should not, but it can happen. History has shown that censorship appears when people are trying to protect the public.
  19. It's happened before in history; you start off trying to protect the public, and the next thing that comes is censorship.
  20. It's a challenge trying to take a vacation during a national economic recession.
