  1. I put chicken in a slow cooker last night; the meat fell off the bone when I removed it a moment ago, and a delicious aroma drifts through the house. Next comes the sauce from the broth derived from the chicken, pearl onions, mushrooms, red wine, tomato paste, sea salt, black pepper and herbs. I'll probably mash some new potatoes for a side dish, and fix a romaine salad. It's not exactly barbeque, but delightful on a cool spring day. Usually I prefer vegetarian or fish but lately I've been craving chicken.
  2. It's his Moon in Pisces that causes it.
  3. Your husband must take responsibility for his own actions; it's wrong to blame the members of Led Zeppelin for his choices. Interestingly, John Paul Jones remains wedded to his original wife; their union has survived all the years of touring. Each person is an individual and makes his own choices according to his own needs. Perhaps not all choices are the best, but you live and learn. I'm sorry your husband was so inconsiderate; you deserve better treatment. Have you been able to forgive him? It can be hard to carry the hurt with you into the future. Have you been able to meet someone new? Often it's the people who ease the pain in life who matter the most.
  4. And yet it's like finishing the last jar of tomato basil sauce; he still needs to get more to go with his angel hair pasta.
  5. Actually I wasn't even thinking about that; I've been distracted watching Brett Michaels House of Love re-runs.
  6. I remember it being on the front page in California that morning; when my uncle went out happy and smiling to pick up the newspaper from the front porch and came back looking grim and sad, I knew something was wrong. But of course it would make sense if the story were front page news in Los Angeles, because Ritchie Valens was from Los Angeles, and he died along with Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper.
  7. I agree; originally Led Zeppelin evolved as the New Yardbirds. Of the four members of Led Zeppelin, only Jimmy Page was ever a member of the Yardbirds. Page was the one who auditioned people to join the band and organized the selection process.
  8. It depends on the bond in the relationship; I would not abandon someone who I loved when he needed me. I could, depending on how much I want to do it, and how hard I have to think about it; the less I have to think about it, the more likely I will do it, especially if I can still respect myself in the morning. Also, if the desire and respect factors are very high, it's more likely to happen.
  9. My friend's mom grimaced when she first heard Robert Plant's Tin Pan Valley live. She prefers easy-listening consonant sounds; if she hears anything dissonant she flies off the roof into the soothing blue for relief.
  10. Music seems to be an evolutionary process for him.
  11. Robert Plant has his own version of straight answers; when he tells the audience he is coming back soon we think he means next week when what he really means is after he gets around to it following his latest trip. You never really know how long that trip will take once the magic of discovery beckons him; he does not run on automatic.
  12. I've probably heard Achilles and Bron-y-Aur Stomp from other nights; thanks for the review from the guy who attended. I guess they had an off night.
  13. I wasn't there that night; have you talked to anyone who was? Sometimes the boots don't accurately reflect the actual experience of being there.
  14. Maybe it was just the weather; Arizona can be extremely hot and dry, with temperatures well into the hundreds. Perhaps they were exhausted.
  15. All three of the concerts I went to in 1977 at the Forum were wonderful.
  16. I doubt that JPJ worried about these kinds of issues that much, or that he reacted negatively. They dealt with the tensions within the group with their usual love and sense of humor. People tended to forgive each other for being a pain in the butt, and that is one reason they got along as well as they did; also, the music was a great outlet for tension. They were pretty happy doing what they did for the most part. After John Bonham moved on, the group changed; they went from being a four-person relationship to a 3-person triangle, and 3 is a crowd, so the tensions increased. John Bonham did more than just play the drums; he eased tensions in the group, and was more or less a stage buddy to JPJ, especially while RP was busy as the front guy and JP was occupied with a guitar solo.
  17. That's why you are not JPJ and Mr. Plant requires proper security.
  18. Yes, it's an awkward question, like asking people to define art; it just goes on and on.
  19. San Francisco was the turning point in the United States during the period when their music was charting large numbers; then the rest of the world followed.
  20. All the shows I went to between 1969-1977 were great.
  21. There were also other comments linked on the webpage. All the remarks that I've read from people who attended that concert were very positive. www.ledzeppelin.com/show/july-17-1977
