  4. Black Sabbath Guitarist Tony Iommi Begins Job As Teacher According to The Pulse Of Radio, Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has posted photos online from his first day on the job as a teacher at Coventry University in the U.K. Iommi began his stint as a professor of music last Wednesday (September 24) and posted pictures of a class session as well as an autograph line where he signed things for students. Iommi was appointed Visiting Professor of Music last June at the university, which awarded him with an Honorary Doctorate Of Arts in November of last year for his outstanding contribution to global music. He toured the facilities in May and spent some time during that visit talking with students and staff about his 50 years as a musician. Department Of Performing Arts head Dr. Sara Reed said, 'It is a temendous honor to have Tony here with us as a Visiting Professor. His huge wealth of experience and musical knowledge is beyond value to our students." Iommi will work this fall directly with students on their songwriting and composition skills. http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/black-sabbath-guitarist-tony-iommi-begins-job-as-teacher/

  9. "Gotta Love The Ride" is taken from Mr. Big's eighth studio album, "...The Stories We Could Tell", which will be released on September 30 in North America via Frontiers Music Srl. The band's original lineup -- comprised of Eric Martin on vocals, Paul Gilbert on guitar, Billy Sheehan on bass and Pat Torpey on drums -- got together this past June to begin recording and laid down the 13 new tracks in just a month. "...Stories We Could Tell" was produced by Pat Regan, known for his work with Deep Purple, Warrant and Keel. "...The Stories We Could Tell' track listing: 01. Gotta Love The Ride 02. I Forgot To Breathe 03. Fragile 04. Satisfied 05. The Man Who Has Everything 06. The Monster In Me 07. What If We Were New? 08. East/West 09. The Light Of Day 10. Just Let Your Heart Decide 11. It's Always About That Girl 12. Cinderella Smile 13. The Stories We Could Tell 14. Addicted To That Rush (live; exclusive bonus track) Mr. Big recently announced that Pat Torpey has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. The diagnoses has left him unable to perform his normal drumming duties on the band's upcoming world tour. He did complete all of the drumming on "...The Stories We Could Tell', but, unfortunately, touring will be too difficult for him at the present time. Filling in for him will be Matt Starr, who is the current drummer for Ace Frehley. Mr. Big expects Torpey to jump on the drums on suitable live songs as well as participate in the group's acoustic set. Mr. Big's last album, "What If...", was the band's first "all-original" album since the reunion of the four original members back in early 2009. Formed in 1988, Mr. Big forged its place in hard rock history by combining trademark "shredding" musicianship with awesome vocal harmonies. The original lineup produced numerous hit songs that ranged across a wide array of rock genres, be it ballads, heavy metal, or blues rock. Their hits included "To Be With You" (Billboard Hot 100 number on single in 15 countries for weeks, in 1991, propelling the band to huge international success and record sales in the multi-millions), "Wild World", "Green-Tinted Sixties Mind", "Just Take My Heart", and a host of heavy metal songs that were played mostly during their live performances: "Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy", "Addicted To That Rush", Colorado Bulldog", and "Take Cover". http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/mr-big-new-song-gotta-love-the-ride-available-for-streaming/

  11. Godzilla - Japanese Original 60th Anniversary Edition by Akira Ifukube Colored Vinyl Housed Inside A 350gsm Card Sleeve Complete With A Poster And Obi Strip Re-mastered For Vinyl From The Toho Archives Exclusive Original Art By Cheung Tat Contains Locked Groove Death Waltz Recording Company are proud to be unearthing the legendary monster of our time and bringing him to vinyl in the shape of Akira Ifukube's score to GODZILLA. Starkly different to the usual view of The Big G as the ultimate monster wrestler, Ifukube's music is intense, dark, and reflects Ishiro Honda's film as a pure horror film. While the score opens with the jauntly riff that would eventually become Godzilla's Theme, the majority of the music alternates between pounding brass and mournful strings as we witness the death and destruction that comes in Godzilla's wake. ifukube uses low string notes as a sinister motif to herald the arrival of the creature, and then turns up the brass to eleven, creating an atmosphere of pure apocalypse. More horrifying still are the piercing strings that score the oxygen destroyer, the device that would destroy Godzilla. Big laments are used as the characters question the use of the machine as a weapon of mass destruction, and it's this remarkable human quality that infuses the score with its unique feel. http://www.soundstagedirect.com/akira-ifukube-godzilla-japanese-original-60th-anniversary-edition-180-gram-vinyl-records.shtml

  15. JOE LYNN TURNER Says RAINBOW Reunion Is 'Very Possible' Former Rainbow singer Joe Lynn Turner says that it is "very possible" that the band will reunite at some point in the near future but has declined to elaborate, claiming that he is "not supposed to talk about it." Speaking to Greece's Rock Overdose 17 years after Rainbow played its last concert in Esbjerg, Denmark, Turner was asked if he could share any news about the possibility of a reformation of the Ritchie Blackmore-led band that existed from 1975 to 1984 and 1993 to 1997. "Well, I'm gonna be honest with you right now. Yes. Possibly. It's very possible," Turner, who fronted Rainbow from 1980 to 1984, said. "Last year, I wouldn't say it. But this year I say it. It's possible. It's a very big possibility that something might, just might, happen. I heard talk of it and all I can say is I'm not supposed to talk about it, but I'm talking to you now, and all I want you to do is say yes. There's a very big possibility that we may have a reunion. And it would be phenomenal." http://rockoverdose.gr/ http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/joe-lynn-turner-says-rainbow-reunion-is-very-possible/
