  1. Very interesting looking cover there, Sath! I know that this is the mighty Led Zeppelin in concert and it doesn't get any better than this, but for a split second, I actually got a Hong Kong 97 vibe off the cover! Sounds crazy I know, but the cover that you posted, reminded me of this: Ahhhhh!!!!
  2. For a split second, I actually thought that this was a GIF of Les Claypool and I have no idea why! But anyway, cool GIF, man!
  3. Panacea is a beautiful song! Like you, I don't think I'll ever understand why Geddy and Alex dislike Caress of Steel so much! It is very underappreciated, indeed! Such a masterpiece! That album happens to be my second favourite album of all time. Honestly, the first time I watched Beyond The Lighted Stage, I was shocked by how unpopular that album was and I was also shocked to learn that the band had nicknamed the tour to support that album as the Down The Tubes tour! *Sigh! Yeah! I too thought that was cool! Nice to know that both Charlene and Alex seem to like that kind of music! I wonder if they were rockin' out to Undertow!
  4. Exactly! Talk about sensationalist journalism! Edited to add: Sorry for such a late reply, Sath! The forum software did me in!!
  5. Cool classic video games haul there, Sath! I remember playing The Legend of Zelda as a kid!
  6. You're right about those thin crust pizzas. I can't stand the 'hand tossed' crust shit, full of flour! Sometimes, the crust is even stuffed with cheese! Yuck! Eating such thick crusted pizzas is a punishment in itself! Luckily, there's a nice wheat thin crust option that I like to avail of, on the few occasions when I actually place an order!
  7. Well, this post is about something that I already ate, last night. Two slices of a good old Vegorama pizza, courtesy of Dominos! My real love is a pizza called The Godfather but I had to compromise as my mom is a vegetarian. Yeah, yeah! I eat at Dominos, about once or twice a year! I also eat at McDonald's, once a year! What can I say? Their cheese burger is absolutely delightful and sinful! I go there about once a year (around Christmas time) just to get my fill! Let the ribbing begin! Oh the shame of it!
  8. Cool! Enjoy your shopping spree! This is something that I do too on my birthday! Oh and don't forget to update the What's Your Latest Purchase thread!
  9. Interview: Alex Lifeson on God, police brutality and 'disco biscuits' Features / 2 days ago / by Paul Elliott Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson explains why even Rush's worst song might have sounded brilliant on ecstacy On August 27, 2013 Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson reached a milestone: he turned 60. Born Aleksandar Živojinovi to Serbian parents, Lifeson was raised in Toronto, where he founded Rush in 1968 and where he still lives. The band have now sold more than 50 million records and were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame by the Foo Fighters – who performed at the ceremony playing Overture from Rush’s 1976 album 2112, and dressed in white satin and wigs. It was the perfect tribute for a man who has never taken himself too seriously. What can Alex Lifeson do that nobody else can? Complain about stuff. I can complain like nobody else in the world. What do you complain about? Everything! I complain about the coffee not being hot enough, about my weight: “Honey, you’ve shrunk my clothes!” Isn’t that just your age talking? Yeah. I just celebrated my 60th birthday. And I complained about that. Come on, you must have had a party. I was like, “I don’t want to make a big deal out of it.” So we decided to have a dinner for family and a few friends. We had a chef make a 16-course dinner, a tasting menu, and I pulled a bunch of wines from my cellar. The meal was fabulous and the room was just buzzing. And because it was a Tuesday we got done by midnight. What was the best thing you ate that night? There was this grilled octopus that just melted in the mouth. But it’s hard to remember what else we had… the wine flowed. I wasn’t complaining too much that night. Do you believe in God? No. When I was younger I did. My mother is not super-religious but she has a belief. My father was the total opposite. He thought religion was a crock. In my early teens I started to question it all. I had friends who were Jesus freaks, others were just very spiritual, and we had these great long discussions about these things. But as I get older it just becomes a less and less sensible thing to think about. What is the best drug you’ve ever taken? Cannabis, I think, is the best. But I did take ecstasy and that was fun. That was in the mid-90s. I loved it. So many relationships opened up and became deeper, and they remain so. It’s the one drug where you have those sorts of experiences and they stay with you. I found that after a while that was wearing off. The more you do it, the less it feels like those first times. When you were on it, did you go around telling everyone how much you loved them? For sure. And music was just amazing to listen to. Probably not a lot of people listened to Rush on ecstasy. Neither did I! It was dance music mostly. I remember doing E one night with my wife, just the two of us. In the living room in our old house we had a huge sound system – 6,000 watts or something. We got dressed up and sat there drinking orange juice and smoking about a thousand cigarettes and we listened to Nine Inch Nails and Tool – all this loud, intense, heavy music. We had such a ball. What, to you, are the worst songs that Rush ever recorded? Tai Shan[from 1987’s Hold Your Fire] is one of the worst, easily. And Panacea[part of the epic The Fountain Of Lamneth, from 1975’s Caress Of Steel]. It was an attempt at something that didn’t really work out. It was… innocent. It might have sounded pretty profound if you were on ecstasy. Yeah! “Oh my God, we really nailed this one! I love you, by the way.” Have you had any New Year’s Eves as lively as the one in 2003 when you were arrested and tasered by police? No. That was a bad experience. What does it feel like to be tasered? It’s a terrible, terrible, terrible feeling. Your body’s shuddering, you’re in extreme pain. And when you’re lying in a pool of your own blood, you’re wondering, “Why are they doing this to me?” And I had it done repeatedly – five times. Is it like a shock from an electric fence? That times a hundred. Your whole body is uncontrollable. It lasts about eight seconds but it feels like a couple of minutes. Hundreds of people have been killed with tasers. What is your greatest regret? I didn’t learn more languages. I speak Serbian, English and a smattering of French. But at the core I’m a lazy person. What is the meaning of life? To be a good person, to live your life sharing, being considerate of others, and loving. Passing something forward. It’s less about making money and getting ahead – which is easy to say when you’ve had success. What will be on your tombstone? “Oops! Sorry!” Source: http://teamrock.com/feature/2016-10-13/interview-alex-lifeson-on-god-police-brutality-and-disco-biscuits

  11. Well, since my mom is a vegetarian, I ordered a large Vegorama pizza packed with red onions, capsicum, tomato and spinach. While I do like it, the pizza that I really love is called The Godfather! It's your typical Italian pizza with pepperoni, sausage, olives, etc. I googled Philly Cheese Steak pizza and I have to say, it is so mouthwatering, Sath!! I gotta say, some of these fast food joints do have their gems like Dominos' chicken wings and McDonalds' cheese burger (yeah, I do eat there, sometimes and I am not ashamed to admit it! ) and should never be underestimated!
  12. Sounds yummy, man! Enjoy! BTW, I had pizza and chocolate lava cake for dinner! Coincidence?
  13. 'Killer clown' with huge knife caught on chilling CCTV footage trying to enter family home 10:04, 11 OCT 2016 UPDATED 10:05, 11 OCT 2016 BY KARA O'NEILL The bizarre figure was captured by CCTV cameras installed at the property as he tried to get inside the house Chilling CCTV footage has captured the moment a 'killer clown' armed with a huge knife tries to enter a family home - through the front door. The surveillance cameras , appear to be recording the scenes at around 2.30am yesterday morning and show a figure dressed as a clown walking up to the door and trying the handle. Wearing a face full of white make-up and an orange wig, the clown realises the door is locked and then makes his way around to the side of the house, still holding the knife in his hand. He opens the back gate, and attempts to open several doors surrounding the property. The clown tries to get in through the front door When he discovers that all of them are securely locked, he finally gives up and makes his way out of the garden. Alongside the video, a caption read: "This morning, I notice my gate was open. I checked my surveillance cameras and found someone in a clown costume was trying to get into my house. "I'm sure we would all be dead today if he was able to get in." The bizarre figure then lets himself in to the back garden It appears the footage was captured outside a home in Texas in the US, but the creepy 'killer clown' craze is something that's sweeping the UK too. There have been a huge amount of scary clowns spotted across the country in recent weeks. The activities reported range from creepy characters frightening people in passing cars to more sinister incidents where people dressed as clowns have approached schoolchildren . Getty Images The 'killer clown' craze has been sweeping the US and the UK The rise of the phenomenon has been boosted in no small part by a Facebook page which shares photos and videos of the scary sightings. The incidents continue to divide opinion across the country with some calling them harmless pranks while others have branded the incidents a menace. The craze started in the US back in August and since then several reports have emerged - ranging from the bizarre to the downright sinister. In one of the more recent reports, a mum claimed a man dressed as a clown tried to kidnap her daughter at a bus stop as she cradled her. In another incident, a creepy clown allegedly tried to lure children into the woods near a residential area. Source: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-news/killer-clown-huge-knife-caught-9015406
  14. Clowns are no laughing matter, IMHO. Don't care what anybody else says. I will never change my mind about this. 'Killer clowns': Terrified woman chased down street by clown brandishing knife in north London JAMIE MICKLETHWAITE 6 hours ago 718 Terrifying: The woman was chased by knife-wielding clown PA A terrified woman was chased by a knife-wielding "killer clown" in the early hours of the morning in north London, police said. The victim was walking near Whittington Hospital when a man wearing a clown mask and brandishing a knife pursued her. Officers attended and carried out a search of the area but the suspect could not be located. A Met Police spokesman said: “Officers have established that the victim was walking along Marlborough Road where she saw a man wearing dark clothing and a clown mask on a bicycle. “The man, who was also in possession of a knife, followed the victim before fleeing the scene in the direction of Hornsey Road." The victim was not injured in the incident at about 2am on Monday. No arrests have been made and enquiries into the incident are continuing. Several incidents involving “killer clowns” have been reported across London, including a teen brandishing a chainsaw in Uxbridge and a pair of schoolgirls being chased by a clown with a knife in Hither Green.
