  1. These guys can be 80, for all I care! They will always continue to rock my world, no matter what!
  2. The feeling is mutual, Strider! You, my friend, just described the perfect weekend! Throw in a couple of test cricket / NFL matches and it is sure to be bloody awesome! I in fact, began my birthday with an early morning Looney Tunes marathon that featured classics like 'Porky In Wackyland', 'Picador Porky', 'It's Hummer Time', 'Bugs Bunny Rides Again', 'Tweety Pie', 'Duck Soup To Nuts', 'Baby Bottleneck', 'Herr Meets Hare', 'Daffy The Commando', 'Tokio Jokio', 'Bugs Bunny Nips The Nips', 'Super-Rabbit' and so many more! I have pretty much made it my life's mission, to promote the music of Led Zeppelin, Queen and Rush (and the music of Blues legends like Robert Johnson, Charley Patton, Blind Willie Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Lead Belly, Elmore James, Howlin' Wolf and Lightnin' Slim) at every chance I get, to anyone who is willing to listen and not dismiss the music of these timeless and iconic bands and artists, as 'music for old people'.
  3. CP, this incredible seven part musical masterpiece practically melts my brain every time I listen to it and I have this really silly grin on my face after listening to this song, because it's just so mind-blowing!
  4. Gee, thank you so much, Deb! I happen to love this song (especially the sound of the harmonica ) I hope you enjoyed watching 'Celebration Day'!
  5. ^^^Thank you so much, CP! I'm really looking forward to seeing your photos of this dish! It is just so scrumptious, mate! I've saved the recipe you gave me, for future reference and I might actually muster up the courage to cook this! BTW, hopefully, England will kick arse in the upcoming test series, against the Proteas!
  6. Thank you kindly, res, but I'm afraid my wall is rather cluttered with copies of paintings from the Victorian Era, at the moment and looking at all that rock memorabilia and photos from Hard Rock Cafe last night and the way the entire place was decorated, has given me some motivation to start re-decorating in the near future!
  7. I have one last portion of 'My Exercise in Utter Self Indulgence', to complete In the Whisky department, well, I got to try out the 3rd Best Single Malt Whisky in the world - Amrut Fusion (fusion in this case, indicates a fusion of East and West), the pride of Bangalore, India! I highly recommend it! The price was incredibly reasonable, in comparison to other Single Malts. The whisky itself, had just the right amount of spice, with hints of honey and lemon - a fine balance between peatiness and sweetness. The taste reminded Black and White Blended Scotch whisky, but with less acidity and more spice
  8. ^^^Thanks, CP! BTW, I just had to look up 'Beef Rendang' and honestly, it sounds absolutely smashing, what with ingredients like coconut milk, beef and so many lovely spices like chili, coriander, etc.! Yum!
  9. It was a very meaty American-style evening at Hard Rock Cafe with family and friends, with Memphis Style Hickory Smoked Beef Ribs, coupled with Mashed Potatoes (and Gravy), Grilled Cottage Cheese Pasta and Garlic Bread:
  10. Being the foodie that I am, I shamelessly documented all of the culinary delights that I sampled, on my birthday, with suitable pictorial depictions! Let's start with my birthday lunch, courtesy of my lovely mom! Fried Rice, Tomato and Onion based Korma (laced with Pav Bhaji masala), Onion, Tomato and Cucumber based Raita and a bit of Thayir Vadai
  11. Thank you so much, CP! That lasagna, had oodles of cheese and paprika, nicely cooked chicken breast and even a few pieces of red chili! My mom wanted to know, how on earth I could actually eat this stuff! BTW, CP, my birthday dinner at Hard Rock Cafe turned out to be incredibly special, not only because of the food, but because I came across two wonderful individually framed photos of Percy and Bonzo, the album cover of the iconic Led Zeppelin I and a part of Bonzo's drum kit, mounted on a wall! I couldn't help but tear up CP, as Bonzo looked so happy and full of life in that photo:
  12. Thank you so very very much, Dd, Paul, Walter, Sean, Deb, Esther, Julie, Stargroves, Res and Andy! You guys are amazing!! I hope I don't sound like a sentimental sap or anything, but I am honestly, getting all misty eyed, on reading your birthday wishes!! It was an incredibly special day, you guys! What really made it extra special and made me tear up a little, was coming across individual photos of Percy and Bonzo (along with a section of his drum kit, that was mounted on a wall) and the cover of the iconic album Led Zeppelin I, among the heaps of memorabilia and photos, while having dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. I teared up, as dear old Bonzo was smiling and so full of life in that photo! It was so wonderful to see! I managed to take a few photos, even though the place was packed to the rafters and I really feel the need to share these photos with you guys! There were tons of photos and memorabilia, but I was somehow, only drawn to the Led Zeppelin section! Oh and this forum will be incredibly strange and so incomplete without you 'old geezers'! I mean, we naughty and cheeky young'uns, need you guys to not only tell us, what it was like to see Led Zeppelin live and what it was like, living in amazing eras such as the 70's, but also teach us a thing or two, about life itself! Well, I'll stop 'rambling on' now, before my post turns into a novel Here are the photos that I took last night:
  13. Birthday Lunch with Family A Very Whisky Get Together with Family and Friends! Birthday Dinner at Hard Rock Cafe
  14. Looney Tunes Theatrical Shorts! Tons of 'em! A perfect way to carry on the birthday celebrations!!
  15. indeed we are, matey! Indeed, we are!
  16. Rubbish? No, sorry. I don't think so. OK. Let's get something straight, here. Being born in 1987, I was (obviously) way too young to have been fortunate enough to see the band in its hey day. I understand that these releases were a pretty big disappointment for all those who know Led Zeppelin's live catalog in their sleep (the bootlegs aficionados, as I choose to call them), but to me, these companion discs constitute incredibly interesting 'historical documents', a time capsule of sorts that provides a young fan like myself, valuable insights into the recording process of the band! And in my opinion, Jimmy Page certainly need not have taken all this trouble, to give us this time capsule! Plus, these discs gave the world, 'new' Led Zeppelin tunes (beauties like '10 Ribs & All / Carrot Pod Pod (Pod)')! I mean, what more could a younger fan like myself, ask for?
  17. Awww....THANK YOU, Morgan!! That Nintendo poster is so cute! You know, I have constantly felt that we are kinda like two peas in a pod, you know? In terms of how we look at life and in terms of humour (if you know what I mean!) It is no wonder that you are pretty much one of my best friends, on the forums!!
  18. Chicken Lasagna for my pre-birthday lunch, yesterday! It had a brilliant spicy flavour and was so not for the faint hearted!
