  1. Never saw a photo other than her avatar and even if I did, I'm still not sure I'd know who it was. This place has more banned members than any other forum I visit.
  2. The Led Zeppelin section. That would make more sense anyway since I'm sure we would all have different answers that wouldn't necessarily if into a Poll topic.
  3. I don't think I've ever heard a single note of their music but I am aware of Jimmy Buffett's cover of Makin' Music For Money from his A1A record. In the clip below, Buffett vocalist Nadirah Shakoor (formerly of Arrested Development) steps upfront to sing lead on this classic Buffett cut (she covered it, along with several other Buffett-related tunes on her tribute album to him, Nod to the Storyteller which was released back in 2008).
  4. ...and stay the fuck away from the Four Loko. PLEASE.
  5. I have no idea who it was but am also glad to see they've been banned.
  6. I deleted some messages in my PM box so you should be able to get through now. I tried to PM you but it wouldn't let me.

  7. What in the fuck are you talking about? "Sand test"? And why would I need to "expand" upon my mention of the RBC Center? Regardless, I'm referring to the previous post about Plant not playing large venues because that person thinks he can't sell them out.
  8. Patterson Hood reviews the upcoming Go-Go Boots webisodes.
  9. I'm curious as to how this is a "poll" especially since there are no choices given to choose from. Perhaps it's better suited to another section of the forum.
  10. A mindless comedy of the highest order which is exactly why I rented it (the $1 rental fee at Redbox didn't hurt either). Despite it's mindlessness, it also had at least one good message about the time period I grew up in when we didn't stay inside glued to video games, the internet, cable TV, etc.
  11. Front Cover Back Cover Gatefold On the right hand side of the gatefold there's an inscription that reads: "This album jacket is great for cleaning herb".
  12. I don't know that Plant can't sell out larger venues but rather plays smaller places because it fits the music better. Playing smaller venues provides a more intimate live music experience for both the performers and the audience as opposed to playing the enormo-domes of the world. When he came through here on the tour for Raising Sand he played the RBC Center in Raleigh (capacity 19,722). Memorial Auditorium (which he is playing in 2011) holds 2277 people. If he wanted to play larger venues I'm sure he could but I'd much rather see him in a theatre sized venue. Some folks may enjoy seeing their favorite artists in stadiums and arenas but I don't.
  13. I have tons of homemade cassettes I refuse to part with. I invested far too much time in them to just toss them aside. And yes, I occasionally still listen to them.
  14. No need to apologize. I'd just prefer to hear songs we haven't already heard to death and which have already passed the test of time.
  15. Looking forward to this one.
  16. Really? To each their own but I always considered Angel From Montgomery to be one of Prine's very finest works.
  17. That was fairly widely reported by Rolling Stone and the like but that's probably been a good 3-4 years ago (if not longer) now.
  18. I live in the South (North Carolina) and to my knowledge the tour for Plant's newest record hasn't hit here yet.
  19. If he is indeed involved with someone wouldn't that be his business and not ours?
  20. ^ 3.5, yet another bonafide hit that's already proved it's worthiness (or lack thereof) by being played to death on "classic" rock radio.
  21. To my knowledge, LL Cool J doesn't play an instrument to start with, he's a rapper. The backing band however, were playing instruments. That was the purpose of having an episode of Unplugged dedicated to rap. I also regard the turntable as instrument, which is how it's used in rap and hip-hop. What mainstream bands are you referring to? There were also tons of teenybopper artists filling the charts back then, same as there are now. I love Led Zeppelin, they're one of my very favorite bands but I don't put them (or any artist for that matter) on a pedestal.
