This week is nostalgia week in NASCAR. The tradition continues...Southern 500 at Darlington. "The Track Too Tough To Tame"..."The Lady In Black"! The Darlington Stripes will be plentiful on the "throwback" paint schemes that will celebrate some of the classic cars in the glorious history of NASCAR. NBC will be playing commercials from the 70's during the telecast Sunday Night as well. This is one of the few tracks where the drivers have to race the track first and foremost, at the same time 39 other competitors on the 1.3 egg shaped oval.

Susan had her 18 month treatment checkup and everything is good. She is going to start a new post-cancer treatment next week that is a time release form of treatment involving an implant and injections that will occur every three weeks. That's a change from the tamoxifen they were giving her to ingest daily. Anyway, we celebrated tonight with a wine tasting paired with a four-course dinner at one of our favorite restaurants.

Have been binge watching American Horror Story: Hotel, again, in preparation for the new season/saga beginning in 2.5 weeks.

Yep. Hope Dak is ready to become the permanent replacement. He's looked great, even against the Seahawks first team D, but......its only preseason. No comparison to what's waiting for him on week 1 against the Giants. The team has looked good in all three games, even if the record doesn't reflect it. When the players who will make the roster are out there, they've outplayed their opponents. Do need to go out and get a backup qb though. Showers isn't going to be able to do the job, if needed.
