  1. Oh man! So sad! RIP Mr. Saunders
  2. The title says it all. There are bits and pieces of news items that come up from time to time, that don't necessarily fit in any current threads. So I, and anyone else who would like, will post any news bits that are interesting to our favorite subject to dissect - Led Zeppelin. Here is a pretty cool one I saw earlier today tweeted by Led Zep News and Eddie Kramer: Enjoy!
  3. Unfortunately you are spot on. A shame that royalties checks exceed presenting the music the way it was played.
  4. The instrumental version of Going To California and The Rain Song version from their respective companion discs are my current favorites. But nothing exceeds Bron-yr-aur as the most relaxing Zeppelin song for me. It always takes me back to driving through the Green Mountains of Vermont whenever I hear it.
  5. Thank you Paul for keeping this updated. I'd almost forgotten that August was here already.... You know, it's probably a sign of the apocalypse that I am in 2nd in this contest. I don't believe I've finished higher than 5th, ever. Of course there's still 2 months to fall to pieces!
  6. ^ Nice cryptic, informative post. Anyway.... Football was supposed to have begun last Sunday with the annual HOF game. I was attending another sporting event and was surprised to see the game was cancelled due to the field conditions. Here is the "official" reason behind it: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000682020/article/nfl-acknowledges-accountability-for-hof-game-cancellation I don't understand artificial turf being used in outdoors stadiums. At a lower level of competition, I understand the cost saving measure - but if professional games are going on there, I don't see any justification for it other than greed. It's bad for the game and the competitors expected to play on it. Cowboys open at the Rams Saturday night on ESPN. Hard Knocks with the Rams began last night on HBO. Let the season finally begin!
  7. You're correct! Plus, based on his comments about his and Crowley's opinion of women, he's right there with Ailes also.
  8. A pawn, guns, gold and rock n roll show at Badlands? Too funny! I saw them once in 1988 at the Monsters of Rock show. They had the un-enviable task of following Metallica who were beginning their ...And Justice For All support dates. So a week in Japan and that's it. Don't bet on it. IF the demand is there, they'll be back here in the states. George Lynch was a shredder, that's for sure!
  9. RIP Bryan Clauson who died as a result to injuries sustained in a race Saturday night. He drove in many different disciplines of motorsports including NASCAR, Indy 500, Rolex 24 sports car racing and dirt track racing.
  10. ....and adiós A-Roid! Looking forward to a youthful Yankees resurgence over the next couple of seasons! ??
  11. Olympic Opening Ceremony from Brasíl.
  12. Yep! The last one is the only one from inside the arch.
  13. Train Kept A-Rollin - Aerosmith
  14. Silvergun Superman - Stone Temple Pilots
  15. The Final Cut - Pink Floyd
  16. Here are a few shots from our recent trip to St. Louis:
  17. Listening to the 7/24/79 Copenhagen show while driving in traffic yesterday and, I think it's just before Stairway, someone close to the mic sneezes - loudly - which about made me jump out of my skin!
