  1. sounds fantastic, CP! Mrs Walter and are going to one of our favorite restaurants tonight for "date night", while Walter Jr stays with grandma and grandpa. Will report back later. Some fresh green for later...been a while for both!
  2. Jets Colts Packers Chiefs Seahawks (Rams winning wouldn't be a surprise) Dolphins Panthers Chargers Cardinals Bengals Bucs Broncos Cowboys Eagles Vikings Tough picks. I think I may have picked too many road teams... Looking forward to tomorrow!
  3. thank you Emily. He stayed in the hospital for a week after the surgery and now is home. On the mend and doing a good amount of walking already. Doing some of his favorite things...bitchin' about the Cardinals and Seminoles - even though they keep winning. :)
  4. +1 Can't believe it has been 14 years since, already. RIP to all of the victims and people who have passed since, as a result of, this horrific act.
  5. Well directv has decided to have "technical difficulties" for ALL of our local channels, so I am relegated to following the game on my phone...
  6. ^ Pun intended! Pats are missing Blount too, but you just know Brady wants to make a statement tonight...
  7. Pats tonight - rest of my picks tomorrow. Thanks Strider for stepping up! Looking forward to the season.
  8. Agreed. They are gonna be tough to handle in a short series.
  9. I hear some of those injured players could be back for the playoffs. Then what do they do? Mess with the current combination of players? Bottom line is they have to win the WS this year or they will be branded as the modern day Atlanta Braves - great in the regular season, losers in the playoffs. Winning when you're expected to win is a lot more pressure than just adding to your impressive list of wins in the regular season. It will be interesting. My father-in-law who is a life long, die hard, Cardinals fan thinks their bats are going to let them down going into the playoffs. We shall see.... Still a very impressive regular season record, that's for sure!
  10. Yeah, I don't think it was the wisest decision to take that 5th year option on his rookie contract. I mean, best case scenario, is he really worth $16 mil - even before training camp began? The Deadskins just continue to make very poor personnel decisions - much to my delight! These training camp cuts are going to get very interesting. One teams rubbish is another teams treasure....
  11. Well, my father-in-law came through fine this morning after having a triple by-pass surgery. The doctor said his heart is very strong and it never stopped during the entire 4 hour procedure. We are all extremely happy and relieved! Thank you again for all of your positive thoughts, comments and prayers. It's nice to know there is still a great community of support here! Thank you again guys.
  12. Wish he was heading towards Dallas! We could use one more.... McFadden looked great the other night, so now I think Dallas feels good about the 3 they have - I have always liked Fred Jackson.
  13. Scoreboard vs. Pittsburgh looked great Rick! How were the starters looking?
  14. Congrats to Scott Dixon for overcoming a 47-point deficit to win the 2015 IndyCar Championship, while the season long leader Juan Montoya finished in 6th place for the race and tied him in the points. I mean really? How do you make up 47 points with the points leader only finishing 6th? That is the most gimmicky b.s. I have seen in a long time!
  15. Exactly bong-man. I've hardly been listening to shows for the duration and will probably enjoy the shows even more when getting around to revisiting them. Win-win.
  16. So don't fuckin' buy them then. Personally I listen to the companions way more often than the originals. So good for me and when commenting about them, I just include it in the threads that are already discussing them instead of grandstanding.
  17. Apparently Cassell has played all of 4 pre-season series. Obviously not an ounce of confidence in him. Rex does need to commit to someone though. Otherwise the starter will always be looking over his shoulder, which is not the way to develop confidence in a young quarterback.
  18. I appreciate all of your kind words, wishes and prayers. At least the doctors feel that it is not such an emergency as to immediately take him into surgery. He's 76 and strong as an ox, so he has that going for him. He also has the best doctors in the area. He has been more of a father figure to me in my life than my own father has been. A real "man's man" so to speak. So were are definitely hoping this is just a tune up of sorts and he'll feel much better after. Heart surgery has come a long way. Thanks again everyone. I really appreciate it.
  19. RIP Darryl Dawkins, aka "Chocolate Thunder". He went to the high school I graduated from in Orlando and was the first player to be drafted out of high school into the NBA. http://www.si.com/nba/2015/08/27/darryl-dawkins-dead-dies-stats-career-sixers-nets
