  1. My and Mrs CP taken " a few years ago" in Bangkok
  2. That is an extremely good condition tour tee Nick. Considering mine disintergrated about 15 years ago ! Where did you see the Fathers of Prog? Are you sure it wasn't taken 25 years ago? Can't bag the location - just as well I hate doughnuts
  3. So I've just listened to a snippet of each track off that album - to get a feel. It is probably 27 years since I listened to it. Trouble Your Money and Sixes and Sevens sound passable but the rest sounds like eighties big hair shite. But hey I resect you for saying that "it is one of your favs". And your correct, good rock and roll didn't get being created after 1980 - look at Oasis
  4. Well it's just as well you didn't see him on the Shaken n Stirred tour. I have posted about this before. The only good thing about that record was the end of it, and the tour was of any interest because of Richie Hayward. I appreciate members are "Stuck in the past" but that ain't me man. I was a musical sponge from when I first heard my sisters Free "All Right Now" single in 1970. I was a classic rock man but that didn't stop me from seeing The Police in the seventies and Patti Smith in 1978 to The Del Fuegos or Roy Harper in the 80's. In my top ten gigs in my life I'll put Zero 7 and Orbital.
  5. I agree with you mate there were a few from your list who I listened to - World Party I'lI agree- I have seen them live at least 3 times in the 80's. There are many in your list who I've never heard of and before you mention MTV, I don't recall MTV in my house in the eighties. It would have been on satellite which I'm afraid in the UK anyway, not many had then Anyway The Buggles "Video Killed The Radio Star" was the first tune played on MTV. And on that note I rest my case.
  6. It's an OK album - for what was the worst decade in the history of modern music. Saw both his shows in Manchester on that tour and to be fair was really looking forward to them. But from memory It was a so-so affair. What was shocking though was when someone shouted "Stairway". I mean of course he was never going to play it, but his reaction was "Piss Off". A bit harsh I thought. He then rambled on about that was then and this is now - which I agree was a fair point. His attitude to the crowd, not his favourite city he will agree, was a bit, well rude and aloof. And towards the end of the show quite a few people had walked. If I had a tape player I could recall this, as I have the tapes from the show in excellent quality too. He constantly bemoaned the "Twisted Wheel" venue saying how bad it was "back in the day" - "worse than detroit". I think he used that link to introduce the song. It didn't get any better for the second night which was a lacklustre affair. So much so that for the encore he walked back on stage, waved, and walked straight off. Reluctantly he came back on but by this time I'd done one and went for a beer in the pub next door.
  7. I captured this insect on the honeysuckle which is around the back door. It was feeding on nectar. Can anyone shed any light on this beast?
  8. I think the fish one is Toad In The Hole. A Classic. It starts off when they buy an old boat. Ollie "Now tell me that again" Stan " We can get the boat finished and catch our own fish, then sell it back to the fish................." Ollie " That's a great idea" They move a Piano. Up the steps to a house - and down Quite possible the funniest and easily the finest comedy known to mankind. My mates got everything. I will be seeing him next week. Do you want a copy of anything if he can do it? CP
  9. Todd Rundgren & Utopia Live At The Knebworth Festival August 11th 1979. Personal Recording
  10. You must live near me Fireopal. Cos it's like Sumatra in the monsoon without the heat. Pissing down and will be until next week
  11. I am at a funeral today for an old friend and work colleague. She was a lovely person who saw Zeppelin in the early 70's who amazingly couldn't remember when it was. Love that about her.

  16. Fuck knows and i have the wood burner going. I met a girl once from Rochester when i was working in Jersey (Channel Islands). She was well fit. But unfortunately for me she didn't dig hippies
  17. Summer is officially cancelled until 2013 (assuming we are still here). It is cold, wet and miserable. I still have the heating on and i've just chopped some wood for the burner. I am seriously considering renaging on a sworn oath that I will not be visitng Spain or Portugal this year
  18. Too right the climate is bollocksed. As I type it's cold with hail showers. I know I live in the Peak District but crikey man it is just miserable. In fact the only difference between winter and summer in the UK is it's lighter in the summer Fact: Aberdeen Scotland. Christamas day 2011- 15 degrees C ( 60 degrees F) May 6 degrees C ( about 40 degrees F) It was warmer this winter than the whole of April/May. I have always wondered why Britain retains the sovereignty over the Falkland Islands. It's because it has exactly the same climate. SHITE
  19. Sorry to say but Journey toured the UK in the late 70's/early 80's. Unfortunately for them the opening act was Pat Travers. I have never seen a concert hall empty so fast. I did stay for a couple of songs but we couldn't figure out if the vocalist was male or female? I believe Journey never returned to Manchester for a long time. File under a number of mis cast line ups. Like Black Sabbath being blown away by Van Halen or of course the Knenbworth bill of 1979 ( except Todd)
  20. Took this on a canon sure shot and scanned it. A special place for all us fans and a very emotional night for all New Yorkers
