Tucker has now been fired from every cable news network. I really hope they run for President in 2024. Let the swine tear each other apart.

Tucker Carlson will remain a prominent national media figure for years to come. If anything, his release from Fox News allows him to reach his full potential as a commentator.

Did BC start managing Plant in 1982?  I've never heard that before - I thought it was Phil Carson that managed him early on.  It's confusing.  Also - the selling of publishing shocks me, there isn't a lot of info about that.

It was Peter Grant who secured Robert's first deal as a solo artist with Atlantic Records. On October 14, 1985 Robert issued a press release that everyone in his band was out. In a subsequent interview, he said the reason why is because he had grown weary of their "menopausal rumblings".

In October 1986, Robert met Phil Johnstone and Dave Barrett and the three began writing new songs within two days. In January 1987, Doug Boyle was brought in and Chris Blackwell soonafter. Charlie Jones joined "in the final stages of recording", replacing Phil Scragg.

Meanwhile, in Autumn 1986 Robert signed a new management deal with Bill Curbishley's London-based Trinifold. It was indeed Bill Curbishley who carefully explained to Robert that if he intended to maintain a viable solo career he must return to performing Led Zeppelin material. His newfound willingness to do so ushered in an era of unprecedented success as a solo artist.

I'm also very curious about the sale of Robert's publishing rights for Led Zeppelin music. I've tried digging around on it but found no reliable sources on what happened and when.

I'm posting from memory so bear with me...as I recall Peter negotiated a two-album deal with Atlantic Records to establish Robert as a solo artist. As I recall, Robert sold his rights to receive royalties from sales of Led Zeppelin's back catalog (the 10 original albums) during negotiations for the next deal. One motivation was that by cashing out it allowed him to launch the Esperanza label. It also coincided with an imminent divorce -- make of that what you will. Anyway, no one could have predicted something called the compact disc would come along to revolutionize the music industry. Sales were slumping such that Coda as a new release was hailed for bringing consumers back into the record stores.

Halyna Hutchins. The girl that Baldwin shot.

The girl that Baldwin killed by pointing a loaded pistol at center of mass, squeezing the trigger and blasting a whole through her chest. He won't do one day of jail time, but punch some psychotic street vagrant in the face for not leaving you alone and see what happens.

^^ I'm still waiting for my "jetpack," and flying skateboard that was supposed to arrive after the turn of the century.

They don't exist because they require a society educated in Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEP), not Gender Studies, Social Justice & Environmentalism.

Being English, I'd never set foot over the border, man. I've got on really well with every Scottish person I've ever met and the loveliest lass I ever knew was from Fife, but for an English swine to actually go into their territory and put yourself at their mercy? It'd be like the Wicker Man, dude.

That's unfortunate, but I understand. In my travels I met an elderly woman who explained to me the proud satisfaction she felt spending Scottish banknotes in London.

  6. Well, I'm stunned by the effort as the structure was obviously burned to the ground. It'll never be rebuilt the way it was -- an impossible task for anyone-- but I'll settle for an approximation. I'd actually gone to Boleskine House a few times more years ago than I care to count. Actually, I've been thinking of my visits to Scotland quite a bit lately, for no apparent reason. The Scots are so welcoming and friendly. I can easily imagine living near the loch in perfect peace and tranquility. Perhaps if life had turned out differently I would be.

I don't think that will help. This is the exact quote from the book:

The date range is early 90s but not more specific than that.

I should have taken better notes when I was online earlier. I had read that in the early '90s he was touring with a female vocalist. I saw she had some gig in Lousiana in January 1990 which arguably supports (or at least does not refute) it was Spring 1990.

  8. It has the W logo which immediately rules out being a first pressing.

This from "Neil" on the internet...

Warner Bros. Records was created in 1958.
Warner Bros. purchased Reprise Records in 1963.
Warner Bros. was sold to Seven Arts Productions in 1967 and Seven Arts also purchased Atlantic and Atco Records (subsidiary of Atlantic).
Warner Bros.-Seven Arts company was sold to Kinney National Company in 1969…so Kinney now owned Warner Bros, Atlantic, Atco, Reprise.
Elektra label was acquired in 1970.
In 1972 the company was renamed WEA Corp. after the three major labels, Warner Bros. Elektra and Atlantic.
Swan Song was created in 1974 and Atlantic (WEA Corp as the legal entity) was given the production and distribution rights by messrs Grant, Page et al.

Now, that’s the facts over and done with! Here’s the conjecture…the ‘W’ logo doesn’t begin to appear on Atlantic labels until ‘around’ 1975. The very first LP issue on Swan Song was The Pretty Things ‘Silk Torpedo’ LP in 1974 – no ‘W’ logo as you’d reasonably expect. Then came “Physical Graffiti’ in February 1975…no ‘W’ logo on the first pressings (in my opinion). Then came The Pretty Things again with ‘Savage Eye’ in 1975 (don’t know of the month) but again no ‘W’ logo. Next up is Led Zeppelin with ‘Presence’ in March 1976 and this DOES have a ‘W’ logo, as do all subsequent Swan Song labels after this. So I would propose that a ‘Physical Graffiti’ label with a W logo is a reissue from 1976 onwards. Controversially, if you have a copy with both non ‘W’ labels and ‘W’ labels, I suggest that the printer was using up old stock of pre-printed ‘blank’ Swan Song labels that were from 1975 (so non-‘W’ version) along with 1976 ‘W’ labels. The artist and track listing information would then be a single-colour black overprint onto these labels.

The only other thing I would point out is that the label typography changed in 1979 – look at early releases and compare the “Made in UK” on early releases with “Manufactured in the UK” on 1979 issues as another clue, along with the lettering style.

It is not Sept 24th 1988 . Jimmy was in the Hard Rock cafe/restaurant. So we went there and he was dining with Patricia Ecker and Jason Bonham amongst others.

I show the same, and there would have been no other opportunity during that visit to New Orleans. I propose it could be March 1990 as I know he returned to Louisiana with Patricia and son to visit her family in Metairie. On March 16, 1990 he was seen playing darts at Dino's Rock Box at 3619 18th Street in Metairie. This was reported two days later on WCKW FM Radio. I'll dig into newspaper archives to see if anything turns up. Perhaps an ad for circa '88-'90 for this gig.

Here I was thinking the Second Amendment was about having the right to bear arms, not the right to kill people with them.

Every "law abiding gun owner" could potentially become a criminal if or when they snap by going on a rampage killing innocent people, usually students.

Two morons killing people in Louisville in two incidents within hours of the bank situation.

The Second Amendment does not confer the right to bear arms, it merely protects the inalienable right to self-defense. Sometimes it is quite necessary to shoot someone in self-defense and given the sheer number of degenerates, career criminals and illegal alien invaders in our midst it's almost inevitable. That said, by your logic, every person who consumes alcohol could drive drunk and kill someone. Every person who owns a set of steak knives could snap and go on a stabbing spree. It's important to remember that laws are for the lawless.

  11. In the news today, another soft Generation Z snowflake who doesn't do adulting well snapped and killed four people at a bank in Louisville after he was told he was going to be fired. Of course there can be only one solution, and that is to disarm me and countless other law-abiding American citizens.

  12. These hot dog and burrito eating contests are self-indulgent gluttony. Instead, how about competitions among fast-food teams to showcase who can quickly and accurately process the most orders in 15 minutes? I see real potential for public interest in this, because you can do a pregame with the human-interest background stories the public seems to enjoy so much.

Over at the Royal Orleans forum yesterday there were some posts made by @Cookie0024 saying there will be no Jimmy Page performance. When asked if this came direct from Jimmy Page's people and how he knew, @Cookie0024 responded that his information did not come from any official spokesperson for Jimmy Page, but from a source with knowledge of the lineup for the shows. https://www.royal-orleans.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=48080&start=50

Fair enough, but it doesn't take a post from @Cookie0024 or anyone else anywhere else to know there will be no Jimmy Page performance.

It's amazing. These people don't even know when they are being coddled.  He should have asked her is she has ever blead from her vagina and if so how did it make her feel? Or, If you bought a corvette and when you got it home you found a volkswagon engine under the hood would you want your money back or would you accept the wrong engine and call your kit car a corvette?

Perfect! The MAN that Matt debated in that clip seems like a genuine and nice enough person, but holy mackerel do they also have a compulsive need for validation.

Hair Metal, I'm still wondering how that ever became popular...

MTV. Hair metal accentuated visuals and MTV, with programs like Headbanger's Ball, provided the perfect platform to ascend into pop culture.

It seems like every band from the 1980s turned into an acrimonious pile of shite. The schadenfreude is thick with this one.

Mick Mars Speaks Out on Motley Crue Lawsuits: ‘I Can’t Believe They’re Pulling This Crap — I Carried Those Bastards for Years’ (EXCLUSIVE)

'Those guys have been hammering on me since ’87, trying to replace me,' says Mars, talking about his legal efforts to maintain what he claims is a rightful place in the band's business affairs, even after retiring from touring

    https://variety.com/2023/music/news/mick-mars-interview-motley-crue-explains-arbitration-legal-1235576385/#article-comments

Motley Crue was for quite a while my favorite '80s band. Nowadays, I wouldn't cross the street to see the out of shape, vapid, pre-recorded Millennial money grabbing shit show they've become. If Mick Mars owes them multi-millions in advances that's one thing, and a separate issue, but it's absurd to suggest he relinquished all rights when he ceased touring with a band who said they would cease touring in 2015. One need look no further than Bill Wyman to see a precedent exists for a founding member of a band to cease performing with said band without losing all rights. I'd welcome the opportunity to represent Mick Mars in court.

    October 22, 1988 - Joe Louis Arena - Detroit, MI.[Aud cam] -

The same person filmed Detroit and a few of the other concert length Outrider tour videos. Every time I see them posted it remind me to reach out to him again to complete a deal for a full set of 1st generation copies. I obtained mine in 1991 and I believe they are 3rd generation.

  18. I just heard about this new film being released titled Blue Beetle starring a Mexican actor and all Mexican supporting cast. I figured it was a road trip documentary about a bunch of illegal alien invaders crossing the border into America. Come to find out it's just a reboot of a super-hero story that until now had always been portrayed as white. This chilling thought occurred to me -- the movies as an art form is dead.
