Hi Wolfman

Wow, I didn't know Zepp got offered Woodstock. Peter Grant, what a nimrod!

But Woodstock was all hippie shit anyway, wasn't it? I saw the movie. Well, I SAY I saw the movie. I saw some, then fell asleep, LOL

Oh yes, let's do Wallingford, Connecticut instead of "that hippie shit", of course.

They should've done Woodstock. They would have had just one short-(totally rockin') clip in the movie and that would only have helped.

Does anyone know, is there a bootleg of this show?

unfortunately, no recordings are known to exist of this NJ gig. There is a boot of the CT show, though ( the following night, 8-17-69)

Views may vary and they do. IMHO, the magnitude of Woodstock has been greatly exaggerated as a result of the film and Rolling Stone magazine.

I can understand one's own opinion being this, especially if they weren't so much affected by it.

I feel that Woodstock was a point of reference for a generation, in a sense. That's what the media took on it at least. The word I'd use instead of exaggerated would be EXPLOITED. I loved the whole thing about Woodstock, the movie, the concert, the scene etc. I'm glad it got the coverage it did, realizing it wasn't all good and idealic. The media has sort of overdone it but since I was so into the idea, that didn't bother me. Now if we were talking about some other culturally iconic event that I wasn't too interested in, I'd probably say the same thing as you about IT !

I experienced many events on a bit of a smaller scale than Woodstock, but from the same general vibe, and loved every moment of them. I don't think they can ever be reproduced.

Cue up "Time has come today" by the Chambers Brothers. For that time!

Time has come today

Young hearts can go their way

Can't put it off another day

I don't care what others say

They say we don't listen anyway

Time has come today

(Hey)

Oh

The rules have changed today (Hey)

I have no place to stay (Hey)

I'm thinking about the subway (Hey)

My love has flown away (Hey)

My tears have come and gone (Hey)

Oh my Lord, I have to roam (Hey)

I have no home (Hey)

I have no home (Hey)

Now the time has come (Time)

There's no place to run (Time)

I might get burned up by the sun (Time)

But I had my fun (Time)

I've been loved and put aside (Time)

I've been crushed by the tumbling tide (Time)

And my soul has been psychedelicized (Time)

(Time)

Now the time has come (Time)

There are things to realize (Time)

Time has come today (Time)

Time has come today (Time)

Time

Oh

Now the time has come (Time)

There's no place to run (Time)

I might get burned up by the sun (Time)

But I had my fun (Time)

I've been loved and put aside (Time)

I've been crushed by tumbling tide (Time)

And my soul has been psychedelicized (Time)

(Time)

Now the time has come (Time)

There are things to realize (Time)

Time has come today (Time)

Time has come today (Time)

Time

Yeah
