I was listening to Carol Miller's "Get the Led Out" on Q 104.3 and she said they are doing a countdown of the top Zep songs ever. The link is below. I expect "Stairway" to be #1, so my curiosity is more with what follows it. I'm not a big fan of lists, but I am interested to see what songs the fans like.

I've just voted, very difficult to decide, but in the end I went for:

1. Achilles Last Stand

2. Kashmir

3. The Rain Song

Anyway, my choices are :

1. Achilles Last Stand

2. Stairway To Heaven

3. When The Levee Breaks

Of course Stairway will be #1. It's become a cliche. If it's not #1, someone will bitch and complain about it. It's almost sad, really. The song was great once, now it's been beat into the ground so much and so often, that it's a shell of its former self.

I guess I should be grateful that it's only a few songs that have gotten that treatment -- they have plenty of underrated and unloved songs for me to enjoy.
