John,Paul,George and Ringo,favourite song....If possible.

Recommended Posts

I know this is difficult, but I'll throw in my tuppence worth;

John - Nobody loves you when you're down and out.

Ringo - Photograph.

George - Isn't it a pity (either version).

Paul - Dear Friend.

I'd be interested to hear your comments, I know it's as difficult as picking a Zep favourite, but interesting to hear other peoples favourite songs from their solo careers.

Hard to pick an absolute favorite from each them, (I enjoy anything from Revolver on through) but as I just posted in The Beatles thread, I love the Abby Road album. It's solid from start to finish and anything off of that one suits my taste just fine. All really good tunes.

I picked it up in a record shop last week in almost mint condition (vinyl) for $8.00.

RH, I think what Joe means is your favourite John, Paul, George and Ringo song from their solo years.

I'm so damn fixated on the Abby Road album at the moment, I just can't think of anything else outside...

I'll give it a quick shot:

SOLO

Ringo: Photograph

Paul: Silly Love Songs or Let Em' In (Wings)

John: Woman

George: Got my mind set on you

Beatles

Ringo: Octopussies Garden

Paul: You never give me your money

John: Don't let me down

George: Something or Here comes the sun

John - Didn't like anything.

Paul - I kinda dig the opening part of Band On The Run with Wings. I think he should have made that into a whole song.

Ringo - Rocky Mountain Way performed with the All Star Band (He played the drums for it and it was put on a CD so it counts).

George - Handle With Care or Wilbury Twist.

Yeah, not really a big Beatles guy.

I pondered this for awhile....came up with lots of favorites, but settled on these four. For me the timing of these records was extremely influential. All early 70's releases when I was a happy young teen before my parent's marriage busted up like so many of that decade. Interesting (to me) how music so powerfully evokes time and events in our lives. Plus great songs on their own! Thanks for letting me Ramble On. :) missy

Paul McCartney: Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey (1971)

John Lennon: Instant Karma (1970)

George Harrison: My Sweet Lord (1970/71)

Ringo Starr: Photograph (1973)
