Having said that, whose bright idea was it to use an Eminem lyric for the title a rock book? There are plenty of 70's & 80's era rock songs to choose from...perhaps they'll change it now. Yo! She also rode the Starship. I am fasincated what she will say -- and what the band will think of some else who has written a book. I am really looking forward to this. The Only Way To Fly Posted January 11, 2014 Share Posted January 11, 2014 Its been a long time since I've read any of her stuff - but I seem to remember or at least the impression was that she along with Cameron Crowe & maybe a couple of other journalists (but not many beyond that) were really trusted & liked by the band. ledastray Posted April 23, 2014 Share Posted April 23, 2014 I was off work yesterday and spent the day reading the book. There was not a lot of new information about Led Zeppelin in it. She does mention that she had a feeling when traveling with them that most of the drugs and maybe some wild behavior were kept from her. There's still not much considering how often she traveled with them. She doesn't mention Jonesy much at all except to knock him for wearing his shirt open in the famous Starship photo. (I think he looks great there.) She liked Bonzo and seemed to find Robert fun but didn't seem to like Jimmy much, probably due to drugs making him a bit difficult to be around. She refers to him as "shrewd, tough, and manipulative." She liked Keith Richards a lot however and her memories of the Stones seem more colored with warmth. There's a lot of interesting tales in the book about other musicians, like U2, Patti Smith, Bowie, Michael Jackson, Lou Reed, and others but I don't know enough about any of them to have a sense of whether any of it was relevatory.
