Technical question regarding avatars

the problem is its size. If the forum software has to re-size your gif, it takes a single frame

from the gif, re-sizes that frame, and that becomes your avatar; ie, you lose the animation.

The solution: re-size the gif yourself before you upload it as your avatar. B)

Hope that helps.

:hippy:

PS: if you don't know how to re-size the animation,

post the original and someone can re-size it for you. ;)

By size...Hermit...do you mean the 'volume' of the gif ? not the dimensions..right ?

How would you cut back on the 'volume'..like the frames adding up to large a size ?

Curious....

I was referring to re-sizing the image dimensions,.. not the file size.

To answer your other question,.. one could reduce the

file size by eliminating some frames from the animation.

It's really just too long for an avatar..way too much data...and it'd be hard to scale it back for effectiveness....

Rather graphic though isn't it ?

Right.

..on all points.

there's 240 individual frames in that animation (200kb gif file).

that's way too much data for the avatar file size limit of 45kb.

Hey, I've had a lot of days at work that looked just like this! So I can certainly appreciate it.

And as far as being vulgar, it sure beats a photo of someone getting fucked by a horse. It's only a bloody cartoon. Literally.

Yeah, I had to cut my avatar size down...and the amount of frames. I remember my computer was down at the time...but I think it was Hermit that helped me out in my hour of avatar crisis.
