The Bomber
So many great shows, but what was the best? It's a hard one,is it possible to decide a best one? 1st off,the o2 was the best from a sentimental point of view,i wish i was there, but that's the way. the worst were probably the Live Aid and Atlantic's 40th,and Seattle 77,even though it was a good tour overall (Most will disagree with me) I'd say Earl's Court '75 5th night for me,followed by Knebworth '79 2nd night. Now length may come in to it,Boston Tea Party 4 hour show? There are many, but i'll list out a few: Boston Tea Party '69 Anything in Japan '71 (Robert's vocal peak) The HTWWW shows in '72 Any Show in '72 MSG '73 (Though Plant's vocals were losing range) Germany '73 LA Forum '75 Earls Court '75 Some '77 USA gigs (Bonzo at his best,Page at his worst in Seattle though, but most were great) Knebworth '79 Most 80's shows (They were amazing on a good night) Share yours. ally
I can only speak about Vancouver in terms of actually seeing the band so Mar 21/ 70... Aug 19/71.... Mar19/75 were fabulous shows I would say from what I've heard, Just about anything up to and including the 72 North American Tour and selective shows from 73,75 and yes even 77. as well as Knebworth. It's my understanding that both Seattle show's in 72 were outstanding. Damit
Mattmc1973
A show that is consistently mentioned as perhaps their best and most famous show is Bath Festival 1970. Unfortunately, the bootleg is very poor, and while video is rumored to exist, none has ever been seen. So the legend of the show is based on reviews and firsthand accounts, but not much audio/video evidence exists to verify it.

ally
The evening show at MSG Sept 19 /70 would have been awsome. I really hope a good one of Bath turns up someday. They were starting to peak IMHO
Joelmon
These threads that ask a question in the 'singular' sense...as this ONE....are always expanded to include a best of 'series'..... I admit .. it is hard to narrow down...but the multi-listings just make it a panoply... So..as not to be hypocritical...I'll pick one...THE best to me. September 17, 1971. NYC6880
6/19/72 Seattle, WA A horrible recording but possibly the best performance ever by the band, IMO.
