Tea41
Here is a long, great new interview with Page, he talks about how in revisiting TSRTS project, he is pleased with the performances of "Rain Song", his violin bow section, and how he still has the hermit "aging" masks he used for filming his fantasy sequence on the mountain (at loch ness by his home) for TSRTS. Enjoy... http://groups.google.com/group/alt.music.l...a17e5c483ffc463?

Page: In those days, I think being mutually respectful still meant there could be some piss taking (laughs) I'm sure there were nudges behind people's backs, and fair enough! I mean it was hard to find the dividing line between doing a fantasy sequence in a rock and roll film and trying to be a star of the silver screen. ----------------------------------------- Well, he almost owns up. The first time Joe Massot screened their fantasy segments Robert Plant, John Paul Jones & John Bonham laughed their asses off at Jimmy's rock climb. Bonham roared with laugher at the "hermit". So they gave a private screening of the film for Ahmet in New York, who fell asleep. After he was awoken he asked "who was the guy on the horse?" No, I'm not making this up. MadScreamingGallery
That was a great interview with Jimmy! I loved reading what he had to say about talismanic magick. I completely understand when, in reference to the magick, he said, "Yes, I knew what I was doing. There's no point in saying more about it, because the more you discuss it, the more eccentric you appear to be." And, I think this quote was brilliant: What I was trying to say through the transformation was that enlightenment can be achieved at any point in time; it depends on when you want to access it. In other words, you can always see the truth, but do you recognize it when you see it or do you have to reflect back on it later? All these years later, and I am still learning from him. Laughter
He says "one of" the surprises is For your Life. My ITTOD epic fantasy may yet be fulfilled! But probably not...
gperkins151
Page says in the interview: ""Page: Yes. Our first major change was to include the entire set in its original running order, something we've never done on a live album before. So of course the new soundtrack album features songs that weren't on the original. The pacing of the movie is different from the pacing of our acutal 1973 set, but for those that are interested, the CD gives you that original experience. [Editor's note: Ahh yes, Pagey. Always have to be the promising seller.] " -How can he say this? It isn't true!
