  1. This series promises to be a big one!
  2. A businessman met a beautiful girl and agreed to spend the night with her for $500. They did their thing, and, before he left, he told her that he did not have any cash with him, but he would have his secretary write a check and mail it to her, calling the payment 'RENT FOR APARTMENT.' On the way to the office, he regretted what he had done, realizing that the whole event had not been worth the price. So he had his secretary send a check for $250 and enclose the following typed note: 'Dear Madam: Enclosed find a check for $250 for rent of your apartment . I am not sending the amount agreed upon, because when I rented the place, I was under the impression that: - it had never been occupied; - there was plenty of heat; and - it was small enough to make me feel cozy and at home. However, I found out that: - it had been previously occupied, - there wasn't any heat, and - it was entirely too large...' Upon receipt of the note, the girl immediately returned the check for $250 with the following note: 'Dear Sir: - I cannot understand how you could expect a beautiful apartment to remain unoccupied indefinitely. - As for the heat, there is plenty of it, if you know how to turn it on. - Regarding the space, the apartment is indeed of regular size, but if you don't have enough furniture to fill it, please do not blame the management. So, Please send the rent in full or we will be forced to contact your present landlady...
  3. Got a couple of CD's with the latest issue of ClassicRock mag.Joe Elliott,Def Leppard frontman, being a Mott The Hoople freak has constructed a band called "Joe Elliott's Down 'n' Outz",that consist of The Quireboys and Elliott.10 tracks of MTH,Hunter,Watts/Fisher/Fiddler/Benjamin/Major over the years material.Excellent stuff!!. Second CD is from a British metal outfit called "Furyon" which doesn't have much new to my ears in the way of Metal. But,having said that, they do it very well indeed.

    AC/DC

AC/DC Great band !.I was brought up with that sound and I'll always be a fan.The Bon Scott years were the best musically but, life goes on and BJ's voice has kept the band alive for most of the fans.Wolfmother will open for AC/DC early next year here in OZ but,Them Crooked Vultures are scheduled to appear early in the new year too . AIN'T NO FUN (Waiting 'Round To Be A Millionaire) (Young, young & Scott)

  8. Great to see a Blues thread kickin' along.I was speaking to a young fella at a party last weekend.I asked him what sort of music he was into,he said 'Blues,I'm into John Lee Hooker and stuff, and my friends can't understand it ?".Well, you know the deal, you coulda' knocked me over with the proverbial ! Turns out he was a guitarist and was just into jamming whatever he liked, which was not what the "straight's" liked.I started to give him some encouraging words when he said "nothing is gonna kill my love for the blues, nothin',ever !".I wished him the best, shook his hand and walked off.People relate to it,some more than others, one thing I'm sure of,the blues will never die.
