  1. Agreed. I wonder what the band's thinking was around the static set lists on the latter tours? I know there was a lot of variety during the jams, but it seems like they'd want to change up the songs they played a bit just to keep themselves interested.
  2. Thanks. I'm glad you like it. I always wondered why they didn't play Levee more frequently. It's a killer song, and could really have been a centerpiece live.
  3. It has been raining for the past 12 hours, and it's expected to continue for the rest of the day. It's actually a welcome change after the mini drought we had this summer.
  4. Thanks. I had heard the organ noises, but didn't know that he played the drums. And it was surprising that they actually set up a couple of drums on stage specifically for him, as opposed to him just banging on one of the drums on Bonzo's kit. Although I suppose you do not want to be messing with Bonzo's drums when he's in the zone.
  5. Thanks. I'm glad you like it. For me, it was worth the effort just for When The Levee Breaks. I always wondered why they didn't play that frequently. It's a killer song.
  6. Yeah, this is amazing. I can't imagine how much work it must have been. And if you like this, check out Badgeholder Blues from ledzepfilm, which is a similar kind of project for the 1977 tour.
  7. Here's another installment in The Stereo Project. Send me a message for the full remaster. Sample: https://youtu.be/F2kjzAMnO0s
  8. Wow. Love the shot of power when the JPJ and Bonzo come in after Jimmy's solo in Heartbreaker.
  9. Very cool. Thanks for posting this. Love the photo, too. Anyone what the microphone is for that looks like it's coming out of Jimmy's guitar? Seems too high up to be capturing any of the individual drums. And video from LA in 1970 is just too much to hope for. Any idea if it's 3/27 or 9/4?
  10. My understanding is that it's a new source. Not sure of the quality. It's on Black Beauty, if you want to check it out.
  11. This five hour compilation of live performances with accompanying video:
  12. Thanks for posting those, Sam. My favorite parts are the reviews in Episode 14 that talk about the how the crowds reacted to the band: "One of the most amazing concerts from any band, at any time. The scenes are just ridiculous. The audience loved every second like no audience I've ever seen" and "I haven't seen a crowd with as much energy and enthusiasm in years. There were five encores because the audience screamed and stomped till they got what they wanted." If only I could have been there, cheering and clapping and screaming along with the rest of the lucky souls who got to witness the electric magic in person.
  13. Buckethead. How can anyone play guitar this well? There's quote on YT from someone who was at the show that sums things up nicely "I was at this show, and i had never even heard of Buckethead before this. Of course I was completely blown away by his performance. My friend and I didn't say a single word to each other until the show was over, then we just looked at each other and were like, what the fuck just happened, and how did it come to be that we were lucky enough to experience the most incredible musical performance of all time. I don't to go to concerts anymore because I know nothing could ever match this show...."
  14. The best sound is going to be the soundtrack to the official version on the Led Zeppelin DVD.
  15. Most of us have multiple versions of this show. What exactly are you looking for (best sound, most complete, etc.)?
  16. Some insight into the tours opening for Judas Priest in the early '80's from the Priest point of view: https://blabbermouth.net/news/rob-halford-on-judas-priests-1982-north-american-tour-with-iron-maiden-it-was-remarkable
  17. Dave's voice is surprisingly strong here. I'm guessing there's some studio magic going on, but he sounds way better than during the reunion with VH.
  18. There's an interesting article by a writer who became friends with Ed in the last few years before he passed away: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/eddie-van-halen-secret-friendship-emails-1367678/
