Jeez Chilly, here is cold as fuck now (nights anyway, days are very cool, but sunny, so t-shirts still :) ), I thought you'd at least start to see some warmth being you are on the other side of the globe!

You poor bastard! I hope it turns soon mate.

I know, I am a whacky guy, I need facts, not speculation based on possibilities. This means zero, nothing without facts. I shall wait for the facts as that is what thinking, rational humans tend to do.

Seems to be some interesting facts in this piece...

*This is NOT a political comment, and I have not verified the content. I realise some of you think Tapper/CNN is left wing bullshit, equally, some will not trust the guest as he is a Republican Senator from Texas. I don't give a fuck, I'm interested in the conversation.

Do you at least have a 'reasonable suspicion' that the Red Chinese government is coving up something they did wrong? And then beyond that not providing any REASONABLE explanation why they forcefully silenced their own scientists and people who were coving the story?

What I am describing is a "guilty mind" which is SUSPECTED at being culpable of some malfeasance.  Of course we need more proof, but that should not dissuade the global community from not only demanding answers, or pressing the Chinese HARD for those facts.... no matter how embarrassing they may be.

But China's problem now is that they will NOT likely willing change their story to the truth--- even if the truth was an accident. Because that is not in the Red Chinese mindset to be open; not to the world or their own people. China is NOT Britain, Canada, Japan, Italy, or any other number of nations who would for the SAKE of global health and/or avoidance of future pandemics be honest to the rest of the world.

THEREFORE we ought to treat China as a CRIMINAL SUSPECT would be treated until such facts either clear them of wrongdoing, or convict them of wrongdoing. And we should do this because China had been anything BUT open and helpful in this pandemic.

Come on man, how is it even possible that China with over a BILLION people can be claiming only 91,000 cases of covid? Something like 98th on the list of affected nations. China is basically claiming fewer covid infections than Bahrain, Panama, and Finland.... those lying commie bastards!

Treat them as GUILTY until they come clean with some truth. Because "the facts" which they have provided are all bullshit!

Well put. And the sad part is the facts/truth will most likely never be known for the communist party constructing and selling a "reality" they see fit including silencing BY ARREST, doctors simply reporting fact/reality. Some of those doctors died of Covid too. It's fucking shameful. The President for life is not doing his country any favours.

  3. There is so much live stuff in the vault. You completed the very in depth remaster program of all studio albums giving the fans a chance to appreciate the "back story" for many tracks with the companion disks, releasing what was left of unfinished, or shelved ideas.

So there remains in the vault a rock solid, workable live material collection ranging from incredibly good quality soundboards to multi-track recordings. Given the advancements of sound engineering techniques such as AI, and instrument separation, is it time to revisit the idea of an anthological release, or better still, several stand alone live releases putting on the official record the different periods of Led Zeppelins reign?

Seattle is IMO overrated, its good but I would take both Vancouver dates over Seattle any day.

I wouldn't say overrated, but Vancouver certainly is on the same level, just different highlights. It was such a strong performing run around that time - going back to NY (Four Blocks in the Snow) even with Plants voice affected by illness. They were KILLING it live.

All the times I saw Led Zeppelin I never once saw Jimmy Page play a Fender Strat. Which is why I am intrigued by the May 18 and May 23 Earls Court, where for some undisclosed reason he broke out the Fender Strat for supposedly "Over the Hills and Far Away" and "No Quarter". The Strat would not appear again on stage until the 1979-80 shows for "In the Evening".

I wonder if it was due to the acoustics in the venue and the decision was made in sound check?.... Must be something like that given the rarity (I would imagine).

  6. We're getting our shot next Tues. Glad to. It's not really an issue here besides occasional flare ups (in QLD we had one community case a few weeks ago and were masks and lockdowns for 3 days to see if more cases popped up, none did), but fuck catching it without the vaccine.

Absolutely beautiful redrum, lovely and green. Is that a drone showing your neck of the woods?

Here is pleasant when the sun is out, but mornings, nights, and when it's overcast = COLD. Freakin COOOOLD. Thank fuck the winter here is relatively short.

The members of Heart loved Zeppelin and covered their songs live many times. Annie Wilson ripped into Rock and Roll; sincerest form of flattery.

Yes. Heart loved and paid the greatest respect to Zep by covering their material.

It's all down to the artist, and what they are trying to achieve. Like Zep did with the blues they paid hommage to, artists would need to make a cover their own. I read somewhere the Beastie Boys used the drums from WTLB without permission or credit, and when Jimmy Page heard it he had no problem at all as it was used by The Beastie Boys in their own flavour, and Jimmy appreciated the musicality. I don't know how accurate that is but it is admirable to hold that kind of position in my view.

  9. The long weekend (Monday, public holiday) for me starts now as I also have Friday off. 4 day weekend!!!

Mad ribs have been stewing away in the slow cooker all day, then onto the back patio with a CC and dry, a cheeky smoke, and Weeknights with Alice Cooper - while dashing inside occasionally to catch the footy.

  10. So I listened to ALS and Kashmir from June 21 '77, and later that day, after a few very tasty craft beers and an even tastier bit of herb, Reo Speedwangon's Take it on the Run was playing on the radio and in my state I fully applied the 1977 Zep sound to the song. Imagining the fills Bonzo would be adding and how intense they would drive the song a.k.a Kashmir. Good lord it blew me away.

I am now deep thinking about how many other good songs turn into masterpieces when a Zep sound is applied. Early Zep, '75 Zep, whatever period, I am sure there are a ton of songs that are fun to fuse.

@porgie66 - Can you do Take it on the Run with a '77 insane sound? 😆
