Thats interesting IpMan. Here, the culture of alcohol is out of control. And throw in online betting. Every sporting event BAR NONE (and sports is quite popular here) is swimming in alcohol promotions and advertisements, and plagued with online gambling ads - and embedded spots promoting the betting company. Two of the biggest social issues in this country are gambling addiction - which is having a grave impact on far too many families, and alcohol abuse and all that comes with that (drink driving, family breakdowns, violence, abuse, etc.). Even the Russian vodka culture would be shamed by Australia's love affair with beer and alcohol generally. Now I'm 100% about personal responsibility and choice, but this shit is beyond ridiculous. You have to take non stop pushing of alcohol and gambling if you ever want to watch the game - be it cricket, soccer, footy (AFL,NRL,Rugby), motor racing, whatever it is. And kids watch sports as much as us. Usually there is a 5 minute block of ads before kick off/tee off/whatever and most of those are of course gambling and alcohol. During half time, they update odds, and a bookie gives a 3 minute speil about how there's special offers, first to score bonus bets, etc, etc. All aimed at young males - 18 to 25 demographic. The commentary team actually cut to the SportsBet guy and off he goes telling eveyone how great the current special offers are. It's really shit. No escaping it. There are the graphically painted on alcohol signs on field during the game. The sports ground itself, covered with billboards and fencing signage. Team sponsorship is in large part by gambling companies now as well. I don't think we quite have the sexualization of children issue as much, and the pharma dope pushing is not of a scale like you have which is good. Unfortunately, it all comes down to the design of regulations and laws. And guess what? Fat chance things will change when powerful lobby groups pump money into political parties coffers. THAT is the issue. The corruption is OVERT and entrenched. More there than here, but all western capitalist free market systems are no more immune to it than communist dictatorships. Money talks. And corrupts. It should be all about moderation. Just like consumption of alcohol or weed. MODERATION. Some ads, no worries, just don't fucking hijack everything...

Of course not 1 in 5 will. I wasn't meaning to imply that. More that 1 in 5 Americans are subject to 2 differing laws. Local law allows it, federal law doesn't. That, I find interesting. And yeah, a lot of people abuse pot. Just like people abuse alcohol, gambling and anything else that is fine in moderation. Some people drive like fuckwits on the road. Some abuse their spouses. What ever the thing, some people abuse it. If 100 people can recreationally enjoy pot responsibly and 5 idiots abuse it, should it be banned for all? No in my view. Otherwise, ban alcohol (again). Yes, people shouldn't drive stoned. The tricky part there is for law enforcement. Having cannabis in your system doesn't necessarily mean your still high, so there needs to be tests developed so people driving stoned can be identified and arrested. And I have no doubt there will be good methods developed.

California legalising recreational use was big news today. Something like 1 in 5 Americans now legally can smoke pot recreationally (based on all the states that now have legalised it), but it's still illegal under federal law. Which is strange, and needs to be addressed one would think.

If Keith was to never exist - do you really think someone else, or Jimmys own curiosity / adventure / whatever you want to call it - would not have led him to trying this? Maybe - maybe not, but personal choices - even if encouraged to do something, is still personal choice.

ok, today was honestly the first time I heard this, and I was at work, had a rock station going and this came on. Cheers mate. I didn't think the raw footage complete was out there. It's stunning. Seems to be unedited as it was filmed on the nights. If Jimmy has a master copy that can be suitably touched up, SURELY an EC box set is due 2018. Could he have more in the vault than has ever been seen? (more nights, some of which have never leaked?? - maybe 1st gen quality that can be worked on and greatly improved given tech advancements??) It would not make any sense if it was on his shelf and not released - so I fully look forward to an EC box set in the coming year. Hopefully with a super deluxe version that has all available footage/audio of all nights in best quality for the die hards. I don't think this wish is too big a stretch, there's a good chance imho. Something for the masses, something a little pricier with extra for us.

Before seeing this I did not realize there was raw continuous footage (or so it seems from shots that seem to be "left in" and not edited). Amazing.

I saw it last week. Was brilliant! Kids and I (and missus) up at 3.30am on a weeknight. Saw about 6-8 meteors in 15mins. 2 were particularly bright. Also saw 3 satellites slowly roll pass. This was a really good experience for me with my two young kids. They thought it was great. The sky was as clear as can be and it was a new moon so the sky was naturally more dark without the moons brightness.

Boy, what a great show! They are all on fire. Bonham especially. "Mr John Bonham!" Plant declares after IMTOD. And Plant's voice does not sound nearly as bad as a lot of the 75 boots. the only neg is that hella cut in No Quarter. Such a shame. This is a cracker of a show. I'll have to give the 3rd a run!
