  1. I forgot how well they nailed this song at the O2. So powerful. And they really seem to be getting right into it and enjoying it.
  2. Surely it won't be another "best of" release???? I can't see the guys agreeing to that. I think the best we can hope for is a really well put together doco. And the slight chance of a live release.
  3. I had to read this twice to confirm I had not misread this. Wow. Possibly the shittest thing I have read here from someone who appears to be one of the most knowledgable with incredible detail. Each to their own I guess.
  4. ^These kinds of questions are what keeps me from thinking about starting a physical format boots hobby. While collecting and playing silvers and vinyl would be a lot of fun, I wouldn't know where to start, and it's not cheap. Too many unknowns and potential to buy crap that is advertised as good boots. For now my digital collection will suffice until I win the big one, then it's game on!
  5. Why isn't there a "best known version" boot site that a few of the more "in the know" people on this forum could contribute to and/or manage? The Long Live Led Zeppelin blog kind of deal. There is everything there, but a lot of it is mp3 and not best available. Not that I am complaining, that site changed my life (being a noob to boots and then given that great treasure trove). It surprises me there isn't a single spot that has the one (or more where applicable) BEST version of every particular show, with notes. Something that could be managed and only updated by a few people who know what the best is (and how to source it). Possibly this exists somewhere, but is strictly low key and invite only. Maybe, maybe not, but I think there definitely should be something like that. We are all pretty hardcore fans that have AT LEAST one of everything official after all.
  6. My Wife having a wonderful birthday, my son getting an early birthday gift - a soundcard, which leads me to what really made me happy today.... 1. Happy wife, happy life (oh it's true) 2. Son got a soundcard for his PC and did not have speakers, so I generouly gave him my low end 2.0 Logitech speakers, and went and got me an upgrade. Now rocking Creative Gigaworks T40 SII speakers. Tested with a few bookmarked Zep Youtube clips, and a few flacs from some choice boots. I could have wept I was that happy. Now I have headphones option as well as speaker option in my little Zep nook. So damn happy........
  7. Just saw this on YT. Had to post it. Amazing cover. Fantastic. If this were from a boot, surely it would be called... Baked Oven Fresh. God I'm good.
  8. That's gold. You should email them and suggest it.
  9. If it is truly inspired by the owner of that small business being a big enough Zep fan that he bases his own business off it, and sells the shirts to promote his business, I'm ok with it. It's a big gamble. More power to him. It 99% of the time would be lame. In this instance, I don't see it as lame.
  10. I listened to Listen to This Eddie last night. It really is the final word on their live stuff I reckon. Just so much energy. Bonham is off the scales. But y'all know this.
  11. I don't imagine anyone that attended one of Zeps more powerful concerts - or the overwhelming majority of them for that matter, would have seen anything since that comes anywhere close. Lucky buggers.
  12. I completely concede this is 99% not going to eventuate. And more the pity. It is fun to dream though. Who else am I going to share these fantasies with? Reality is but the realisation of possibility after all.
  13. Exactly. And would be of interest not just to us hardcore typre's but in general would be a great show. And good savvy marketing and management team could leverage it greatly to make the Led Zeppelin name really resurge. And since their reputation of live playing is so great, obviously this opens up opportunities for some live releases from each period. A completely resurgent Zeppelin. It could so easily happen - and at some point in the future, either a year or two or a decade or two - there WILL be a second wind for Zeppelin.
  14. I've suggested somewhere in this forum a doco akin to "Classic Albums" - Cameron Crowe to produce/direct. The 3 of them, Jason where it's relevent, others that were on the scene in Zep's heyday, producers/engineers, even a few other bands kicking in the occasional context. The three of them discussing each album, getting into each song. JP and JPJ occasionally with instruments in hand, and engineers at mixing board with original seperate tracks to discuss and excite how the tracks came together (as they did with the "Classic Albums" series). It could be made into a damn mini series. Could be coupled with Live releases from each period as well. Everything Zeppelin for 2018/2019. If someone got to making this happen, I have no doubt whatsoever it would enhance the legacy, and give a new lease of life to the Zep world. Done properly this could be the masterpiece final word on Zeppelin by those that are Zeppelin. Sadly, this will remain my own rambling dream. But I will dream!!!
  15. What made me happy this week. Away camping with family at Cotton Tree. https://www.google.com.au/maps/place/Cotton+Tree+Holiday+Park/@-26.652958,153.098774,706m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x6b937662cf0871e5:0xf02a35bd7228760!8m2!3d-26.652958!4d153.1009627 Beach and river were exquisite as usual. Kayaking over to Crab Island, my daughter chasing the millions of crabs around. BoogyBoarding with wife and kids. Bloody good to relax up there. Had a great time as usual, bit colder this year as Easter was a bit later, but nice. Enjoyed a sneaky puff with the missus a few nights when we could wrangle the kids into an early bed and rediscovered "Rebel FM" which runs the Alice Cooper Rock show nightly, which I had forgotten about. WOW!!!! Now I know why there are Rush fans on here, they played 2 songs that blew my already blown mind away. Rush really do have that Zep vibe. Also other proper 70's era rock and early 80's. It was so bloody relaxing and brilliant. And the mindset was PERFECT for absorbing that great music. A lot of the stuff I had not heard a lot of (being brought up purely "mainstream") I'll be listening the Rebel on the back porch from now on. I might even drop Alice a line. So back home now, enjoy Easter with a few days to tidy up camping gear, then back to the grind. Happy Easter Zep fans!
  16. Cheers. I do like the 16/03/73 SIBLY (Vienna) Conny has it on youtube with an outstanding visual applied as well. The lead in is intense. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ce7UMcgBSrw
  17. Listened to Florida Sunshine on Sat night around a fire in the backyard (1971.08.31). The Dazed and Confused was ridiculous (trippy as f...) I really need to put together a "out there" play list.... Any suggestions for an hour or so (hour 30 at most) playlist to blow ones mind when in a proper deep relaxed state?? I'm thinking another Dazed, a No Quarter, OTHAFA (but which ones???) and maybe a 1973 SIBLY with that incredible emotion.
  18. ^That remains my favourite unofficial/unreleased piece. Was good to see Jennings on the re-release - but these early takes, building from the most basic start. UNREAL. Love Bonham near the start too wailing away like the blues have possessed him. (I'm pretty sure its Bonzo)
  19. That guy does cracking good covers of Zep guitar parts and solo's. Listened to him heaps a while back. The guy is magic.
  20. First NRL game of the season. Bronco's beat the Sharkies. GO BRONC'S!!!
