A few came sort of close. ACDC had IMMENSE potential before Bon Scott died. ACDC died with him IMHO. Nowhere near a diversity of creative ideas, but it was early days, and I always thought the sky was the limit for them lads. Nirvana I thought could have set the world alight if not for Kurt succumbing to his demons. They seemed to be positioned to be exactly that 'next monster rock band' that could have been as great and even as diverse as Zeppelin. Queen, close, but they had a lot of filler on their albums. Zep essentially had near ZERO. At their best Queen were brilliant. Pink Floyd had a few stunning albums, and to me they are closest, but lack the depth of material (IMHO) But even just reading that back to myself, and then thinking of the immense and powerful solo's and jams at EVERY gig. EVERY bootleg and official release. The ridiculously awesome songs (IMTOD, ALS, TYG, The Rover, Carouselumbra, so many others) from all their LP's. Their official live releases. I just don't see another that comes close. Maybe one day. Everything changes, and everything comes back around. Eventually, long after now, the roots of blues rock will become the flavour once again. Led Zeppelin will also continue to inspire as long as their is music! So who knows? But I don't think you and I will be around when that happens.

Maaaaaan the quality of that show!!!!! What an incredibly clear recording. It's like Plant is in the room. It's just incredible. Just gave a few more tracks a run from this night. What an OUTSTANDING gig. Seems they really did want to make up for earlier postponed date.

Not sure, it's just a still pic. and may or may not match the gig. But that rendition, wow! I have only heard a few Achilles live, I think this is the best one so far. Would love confirmation of what night it was from.

As the layman I am.... CLEARLY 2 different songs. No case. ....NEXT.

Jimmy Page is a sloppy guitarist so far as is anyone who is either too stoned, or out of practice. Otherwise he is a sublime communicator. A genius artist. In my opinion, for clearly communicating a certain complex feeling so succinctly, - unmatched. Even some of the more basic pub rock numbers like Custard Pie, How Many More Times, the riffs were enhanced by an incredibly detailed and deep feeling conveyed through how the track was structured, how the solo's and fills were laid on, the production and so on. ALL Jimmy. And yeah, I realise the irony of HMMT being a cover, but what he made it - how he adapted it to convey a certain feel/emotion. So powerful. Back to actual playing, when he is not too stoned, results can be magical. Take Trampled from Frankfurt - 30 June, 1980. That is clear proof that when not too "out there" (but considerably further out there than most would be comfortable with - by the sound of it) he could absolutely nail it. And when you listen to that, it seems to me he was definitely waaaay out there. But delivered what he was trying to deliver PERFECTLY. At times he was too far out there and seemed to be striving for emotion and complexity that just could not be channelled through his fingers in that state. Or the place he found himself did not actually translate to good rock. But he always went for it and mostly unlocked new ideas to be further refined if not nail it on the spot. So - "is Jimmy a sloppy player?" As a direct question - that is not correct. He could be. If he did not explore his mind as much, and as deeply, he may have been a much more precise player for a lot longer, but would he have gifted us what he did? NO. It's all part of the magic. That man's journey is a gift to us all. A fucking GIFT. Long after we depart the young and restless will be discovering Led Zeppelin like they are the first to really hear it. Because it speaks. Sloppy? nup. At least, that's how I see it.

Jimmy and JPJ - at their PEAK. This for me puts to rest JP was not as good after 73 or 75. This is another level. The price was indeed high to reach that level, and there were some poor deliveries live in other songs. But to get to this.... wow.

Does that vision and sound exist in Jimmy's vault somewhere in proper high quality glory???? They were certainly tight and 'on'! Worthy of a release if originals existed in decent quality. I am guessing it was video'd for audience on big screens, but I wonder if originals are with JP....

Me and the missus had a sneaky little smoke last night and watched The Ridiculous 6. Holy crap did we laugh. Quite a few jokes are just brilliant. Written and execued (or improvised). I was not much af a Adam Sandler fan, but this, wow. Some of the characters and themes.... Really good comedic writing. The Steve Buscemi scene. Funniest thing I think I have ever seen on screen. Do yourselves a favour. It is over the top stupid funny. Also, the Western theme was surprisingly authentic. The shooting was actually spectacular, like a legit top shelf western for the scenery and general authenticity.

Jeebus that is so unreal. But I swear I want to take the 'director of photography' or whoever is responsible for framing and choosing cameras and beat them with a rubber hose. Epic non the less...

Cool, subscribed to him about 2 months ago. Cannot believe the quality and range he has. A few nights I have had planned specific listening (limited "me" time away from kids to get 'in the zone' and put the headphones on and chill) sessions with certain bootlegs in mind, and I get distracted by a Conneyfogle video, and by the time I listen to his awesome uploads and bounce around Youtube, time has run out! LOL. I still have quite a few boots now waiting for a proper listen.
