Led Zeppelin's Whereabouts Dec 29 & 31 1968
eternal light replied to SteveAJones's topic in Led Zeppelin Master Forum
That would make more sense; both bands appeared in New York that night. If Led Zeppelin opened for Vanilla Fudge on December 29, 1968, the venue would have been the New Capital Theatre. -
Led Zeppelin's Whereabouts Dec 29 & 31 1968
eternal light replied to SteveAJones's topic in Led Zeppelin Master Forum
Accepted but not entirely corroborated. Apparently, Led Zeppelin was in Portland on December 31, 1968, but Vanilla Fudge was in San Francisco that night at the Fillmore West. Also, it seems Led Zeppelin performed on December 29, 1968 in New York City so that does not substantiate an appearance in Salem, Oregon on that date. Perhaps the facts need review and maybe there's a reason for the discrepancy in reports. It's conceivable that Led Zeppelin could have flown from San Francisco to Portland if they had played in San Francisco very early in the day, because it is a short flight. A flight from New York City to Salem, Oregon on the same day may not have occurred in time for all the changes in airports, hotels and venues, so I doubt that. -
These are all nice ones.

Mr. B and Miss Farrell had a love affair in addition to their shared artistic endeavors. Repression may have been a factor in the personal relationship, as he was still married to Tanaquil Le Clercq when the romance with Suzanne Farrell proceeded. Erato was the Muse of Love Poetry from Greek mythology, if you are wondering about the precedent for emotional and erotic heat. Also, Mr. B cast dancers literally as Muses in his choreography, of which the following is just one example, as there were also others. However, Suzanne Farrell comes across as something other than passive. I seriously doubt that passive women get through the auditions at New York City Ballet. It simply takes more than that. Suzanne Farrell performed as a principal dancer in the company for years. No one in the New York City Ballet remains passive for very long. It just doesn't work that way; they have to move all the time, and the choreography often requires split-second timing with multiple changes of direction, which is probably why Baryshnikov injured his knee.

You can't replace Robert Plant. It doesn't work.

Thank you, Lady G, so it is still an "unconfirmed" date. -
Thank God for radio! I first heard Led Zeppelin doing Whole Lotta Love live in concert on August 2, 1969. It was the first time I had ever heard the song before I bought the album, which was about to be released. It was also the first time I ever saw Led Zeppelin live. Robert Plant looked the same as in the opening shot of this video where he is holding the microphone singing the opening line. The video does not do the concert justice but it's what we have left. Women were falling all over Robert Plant during the show, too, according to what I have been told.

Chill. Now that I have a moment to comment, I would like to see an end to the stoning. If it is any consolation, the destroyer can only take your body, he can not take your soul that you have placed in God's hands. That is why the Father sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, the redeemer, to gather His lost sheep. As for jihad, or "striving in the way of God" there is a difference between the will of men and the will of God, that is the heart of God is pure, and the heart of men is not always so pure. God is without guile, and men are usually not without guile. Choose your leader carefully, that is, choose the one with the least guile and purest of hearts, so your striving will be acceptable in the eyes of God, because there is one other than men to whom you must account.

Whether they should take action or not, they probably would if they thought her rights were substantially abridged. It would be in the interest of any other citizens travelling to the Sudan as well. There's always someone out there who dizzily buzzes into a political hot spot in the world blissfully unaware of the hornet's nest they have chosen to merrily explore. You gotta love em. By the way, she wants to stay there.
