  1. saj, I got a reply from Rimowa to my last query regarding its progress - I have copied it below. I have also posted this info on my own Rimowa thread because we both did similar threads about the same time. There appears to be no info as to why the project with Jimmy did not go ahead. Dear Kenog, Thank you for your kind email. Unfortunately I have to inform you that the Guitar Cases will not be produced in cooperation with Jimmy Page. You can find more information on the Rimowa Guitar Cases under www.musicstore.de. I will kindly ask you to contact them for further details. Thank you and please let us know if there were any other questions. Kind regards, Carolina Cabrera International Sales RIMOWA GmbH
  2. I posted on the 'Five Photos for £7,000' thread recently that I had emailed Rimowa regarding the progress of the Jimmy Page/Rimowa guitar case. I have now had a response from the company, and the project will not be going ahead. Here's the email copied below. I know Steve A Jones did a similar thread about the guitarcase about the same time as mine, so I shall post the update there also.
  3. Hi saj I've posted a message to Mark on his site, and would urge others to do the same. I strongly advise members here to have a look at the site, because Mark has not just provided photos of Jimmy and Robert onstage and offstage, but many other band photos taken over his lengthy career. In addition to these, and the personal portraits of rock musicians, he has included a stunning collection of his world photography. As you have suggested here, I have left a message for Mark - on that very candid photo of him and Jimmy taken in what appears to be a kitchen somewhere in England. It would be nice if others who enjoy the photos would also leave supportive comments for Mark.
  4. saj, Please convey heartfelt thanks to Mark for his generosity of spirit in providing us with these rare photos - particularly as he is doing so free of charge.

Knebby, How lovely to see you back on the forums. Was this the roadies' charity auction? Thanks for allowing your photo to be used here
  9. Please spare some thought for Barry Gibb who has now lost his three brothers, Andy, Maurice and Robin.

  11. More likely that he will be selling his old underpants through Ebay - that is the stage we are at, sadly. This latest venture comes across to me as a way of benefitting Ross Halfin.
  12. Black-Dog, Jimmy has not had any ideas in a very long time. The selling of £1,000 limited edition photos is scraping the barrel, and soon there will be no barrel left to scrape!
  13. Truth and Beauty, Enjoy yourself at the gig in July - I am sure you will look fantastic!! As I have said above, at least Robert has continued his recording and touring career successfully without ripping the fans off for a load of overpriced old tat.
  14. Jimmy and Halfin obviously think we are. I would love to see nobody buying these, but unfortunately there are very wealthy collectors out there.
  15. Is anybody on this site considering buying these?
  16. Spend your money on a pair of Louboutins - more useful and cheaper!!!
  17. Woz70, You are so right. In the past couple of years, all Jimmy has done is come up with vastly overpriced goods which marginalise the 'ordinary fan'. We are ostensibly being pushed out of the market. It started with the Jimmy Page book, went on to the signed vinyls of old soundtracks at £195, and now this!!!! You may notice that Halfin is involved in much of what Jimmy does now, with particular reference to the book and these photos. My opinion is that this is Jimmy's method of putting money Halfin's way. All I can say is that RH will not be getting a penny of my money. Take a look at the entries on Facebook on the Ross Halfin Photography page, and you will see what I mean about the sycophants trying to arse lick Halfin because of his connection with Jimmy. My point in my post above is that Halfin came out criticising strongly the man who videod Jimmy in the London market - the poor soul was not making a penny out of it. His 'crime' was to put the video on YouTube. Halfin, on the other hand, will be making a very nice cut on the Jimmy book, and these photos, through his connection to JP.
  18. Joe, The show you were watching is different from the one that is shown on a Saturday morning. This Saturday, while one of the professional chefs was doing a demo in the kitchen, they played Whole Lotta Love in the background. Like yourself, it drew my attention. Maybe someone in the BBC's food programme department is a fan?
  19. I saw the BBC Saturday Morning Kitchen programme on 12/05/2012, and they were playing LZ in the background, but I am sure it was WLL.
  20. Thanks for bringing this to our attention 'woz70'. I have copied the details from the JimmyPage.com site below. I am going to express my opinion and couldn't care less if others shout me down over this. How are the rank and file Led Zeppelin fans who paid for their LZ albums over the years, and attended the gigs, supposed to afford this? No, this is targeted towards collectors who will purchase these photographs from an investment perspective. All JimmyPage.com has done so far is give us 'On This Day', which is a collection of photographs and reminiscences which we have seen and heard before, together with overpriced copies of film soundtracks from 30 years ago. Jimmy must be needing cash to come up with this latest venture. Alternatively, he is trying to put money in Ross Halfin's pocket. I now have renewed respect for Robert Plant, who has managed to continue so very successfully with his recording and touring career, without having to stoop to this level. There was a hue and cry over on Halfin's Facebook page regarding the guy who took the video of JP in the London market (with all the sycophants leaving comments saying "I agree with you Ross"; and "you are so right Ross". The video taper probably had more dignity than to ask for big money for this load of crap. 15 May 2012 Jimmy Page Fine Art Photographic Prints available now immyPage.com is pleased to present the official Jimmy Page Fine Art Photographic Print collection, a unique collaboration between Jimmy Page and five legendary photographers who have captured iconic images throughout his career. 22. Comments from stall vendor “….he was buying records actually, then strolled around in the market with his friend and ended up behind mine. Books are all classics, real antique books. let's say he just likes popping up unnoticed in public places! “ “…he's actually behind my stall, he's buying books from the stall behind mine”.
  23. I've just checked on YouTube, and the person who posted the video, 'adkdi', says that it was Old Spitalfields Market, London. Here's the link:- http://www.oldspitalfieldsmarket.com/
