  1. Willie Nelson covers Coldplay:
  2. Ryan covers Iron Maiden's "Wasted Years", listen here.
  3. Review of The Whole Love from Uncut.
  4. Anyone fond of the Trinity movies of old starring Terrence Hill, pass this by as there's nothing to see here. Not even a passable Western.
  5. The average, casual listener of "Classic Rock" radio probably couldn't even pick Keith Relf out of a lineup but I imagine they're well aware of Clapton, Beck and Page's tenure in the band. I had my mind blown here not long ago when several people 'fessed up to having never heard of Derek Trucks but most everyone here seems to know exactly who Joe Bonamassa is. Go figure...
  6. While that might be a nice shout out to Zeppelin, it doesn't lessen the degree to which this band flat out fucking sucks.
  7. Losing key members doesn't seem to stop a lot of bands from touring without them. Lynyrd Skynyrd without Ronnie Van Zant would be one example but there's also Little Feat without Lowell George, AC/DC without Bon Scott, Blackfoot without Rickey Medlocke, Yes without Jon Anderson, Van Halen without Michael Anthony, Foghat without "Lonesome" Dave, The Doors without Jim Morrison, etc. At one time Molly Hatchet didn't have any original members in the lineup but the majority of their fans fully accepted it. In some cases, such as AC/DC and the Allman Brothers Band, it works but it most cases, it doesn't. It only serves as a reminder of just how vital the missing member, or in the case of Skynyrd, members, were to the original lineup. Most folks don't even care, they just want to hear something that's a very close approximation of what they're used to hearing on the radio. That's beyond sad and fucked up but it's true. It may put me in the minority but who is (or isn't) in the present lineup of a band is of utmost importance to me.
  8. The Sony Cyber-Shot was a gift but it cost around $400 in 2008. In the past few days, I have been accused of posting two Photoshopped images from that site. To my knowledge, neither of them are Photoshopped. The first: Route 12 on Hatteras Island, NC Proof that it's not Photoshopped. The second: Squall line on the coast of Pensacola, FL I can't prove that it's not Photoshopped but I did find another photograph that was taken on the same day (August 9th, 2011) at the same location (Bands on the Beach [which was cancelled]) in Pensacola, FL: These days it's really hard to tell what's been Photoshopped and what hasn't but I won't knowingly post a photo I know has been altered and try to say it hasn't. With the ability to so easily manipulate photographs these days a lot of people are skeptical and for good reason.
  9. Blues Legend David ‘Honeyboy’ Edwards Dies

    Oh CANADA!

I haven't tried Landshark, all the Buffett fans online keep referring to it as "parrot piss" so I've passed.
  11. Unfortunately, you're probably correct. I definitely don't want to send it back to Sony, they want an arm and a leg to repair it. At least Precision Camera in CT is somewhat reasonable. I think it's just a matter of repairing the contacts but I'm not fooling around with such an expensive piece of equipment in an attempt to fix it myself.
  12. Just answering the guy's question about why similar covers haven't been posted. Most everything in this thread comes from fairly well known bands doing covers, not shitty bar bands.
  13. No, I did not. I found it on this site. I have a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H50 that I got less than a year out of before it went south on me. Believe it or not, there are no camera shops that will work on it in the entire state of NC. My only option is to ship it to some place in CT to be repaired. My back up camera is a Casio Exilim (see below) that is excellent for taking on fishing trips and for underwater shots. I purchased it prior to making a trip to Costa Rica last summer but it's since come in very handy as a back up until I can have my Sony repaired.
  14. Have you heard the remastered version of it? Might want to actually listen to it before placing your vote. I know some here had an issue with the amount of flange used during "Moby Dick" along with the over all editing job.
  15. Mount Moriah Live at Local 506 To listen, click on the album cover image.
  16. He played on "Asylum" from Strange Land, the second album by Box of Frogs, which was essentially comprised of Yardbirds alumni.
  17. From Mt. Moriah's FB page (click on the image to order the live album): You can now purchase for digital download Live at the Local 506, our first of many live releases, at the link below. Recorded live in Chapel Hill on 12/8/10 with a 6-piece band, all sales will go towards the recording of our new full length which we are currently working on.
  18. Crystal Ice Cave - Svínafellsjökull in Skaftafell, Iceland
  19. Probably because finding a shitty bar band doing covers on YouTube is like shooting fish in a barrel.
  20. Pre-1970s is "oldies"? I resemble that remark...
  21. According to Izzoso, anyone with the same join date for this board is either married or part of some vast conspiracy against him and his beloved YouTube thread. Normally I would agree with this sentiment, especially when it comes to the inane back and forth ramblings of ledzepfilm and LedZep342. However, in the case of silvermedalist and Izzoso, any discussion of them of this nature deserves to be stated publicly for all of the board to see. Silvermedalist has had more screen names than even he can remember. That says more about his reputation than the way he dug a hole for himself in this thread. Thing is, he'll be back here under yet another new screen name quicker than you can snap your fingers. That, to me, is the major downfall of this board, the continual return of banned members under new names. Every time a new member begins posting I wonder which previously banned member it is rather than being able to welcome them with open arms as it should be. Now, back your regularly scheduled thread discussion.
