Whats up with Keith Richards on LZ?

According to Grant, TSRTS movie was his 'personal' financial masterstroke. Atlantic thought they owned it, until Grant brought the "fine print" to their attention.

IMO, Joe Massot and his crew are responsible for what I consider to easily be the best concert footage of Zeppelin ever captured. There are so many obvious examples of this thru out TSRTS film (excluding Shepperton inserts) that speak for themselves. Just watch the first minute of the song TSRTS, or Jimmy ripping through the WLL Boogie section, or JPJ saying "oops" to Bonham's "mistake" during D&C and then helping him through it...or this:

I can't remember what book its from, but I do recall a journalists account of Page & Richards bumping into each other backstage at one of LZ's MSG 1977 shows. They basically glanced at each other in passing and said "oiy"...and that was it. Thats pretty fucking cool! -
Very interesting and funny as hell:

Page's solo here is pure genius from the first growling note to the last relaxed sustaining note. This whole show is amazing and a current favorite. -

Fucking Amazing! -
^ Agreed! What I loved about The Ocean as the encore song in '73 is that it wasn't intense or exploratory, just a great way to relieve the pressure/have some quick fun/flash some smiles and call it a night. Never liked RR as an encore to be honest, loved it as an opener when they played it with that slow swagger though. I imagine that the only reason OTHAFA stayed in their setlist was because the band turned that pretty song into dark fucking storm during the solo, otherwise, no way in hell it would have remained in their set past '73. Also willing to bet that Plant tried like hell to drop the song but the band would have none of that shit. And thank god for that

Thinking about why LZ never played 'The Ocean' again after the '73 tour. Also wonder why Dancing Days was never played post '73 as well. They're not very complicated songs to play and they're both uplifting/fun vibes and just fucking rocked live!. Dancing Days is probably the only song LZ ever played twice in the same concert (Seattle '72) because (according to Plant) "we like playing this song so much we're gonna play it again". So, why'd they permanently drop these two songs?

Sounds to me like the outro riff from LZ's Swan Song was the influence for this track's main groove. Starts at 1:06- 2,646 replies

BEST LIVE VERSION OF NO QUARTER?

My current favorite. Its a fair audience recording, but the performance is just stunning. It may not be the best, but its way the fuck up there. -

BEST LIVE VERSION OF NO QUARTER?

Agreed (for the most part). And, yes, that Vancouver '75 NQ is very good, not my favorite but the quality of the playing combined with the quality of the recording is really outstanding. -

Why In Through The Out Door is a GREAT album
blindwillie127 replied to Charles J. White's topic in Led Zeppelin Master Forum
I've always really liked Carouselambra, despite the shit mix. It was obviously a bit of an experiment, which can be risky, buts that a good thing. The song seems to take you on a journey with all the changes in moods and tempo's, very fucking creative for sure. One of the things that bugs me about it though is all the goddamn "Ahh Ahhh's" it just seems to go on and on. And then, they shift into the dreaded "Trucker's Gear Change" and Plant continues with the fucking "Ahh Ahh's". The song does get a bit monotonous but it has amazing movements, urgency and intent throughout, so overall, for me...its a winner.
