A note. You never block a shot like that making yourself bigger with your arms. Arms behind your back etc. A proper call. Anyway, game was epic but the level was not. France was quite shite all the way. Mbappe scored a hat trick but they lost it still… should we call it a Jimmy White trick 😀 Next time, play it during June/July. The final was the only full game a watched.
  3. I have a long drive ahead tomorrow. Something to look forward to. Cheers.
  4. Work of the Lord, mate 😀 (Sorry, I had to have a physical copy and that wasn’t too bad at first listen at least)
  5. I think it got taken out for some reason. The boot is already out there.
  6. Watching/ listening Dazed from In For A Quick Garden. Getting too late but doing a back to back comparison to 24.5.1975 would be nice.
  7. Watching NQ from 4.8.1979 Just listened to the better Copenhagen show recently. Yeah, this is more Jackson Pollock but damn, it is an assault so far. MMH with the uptempo and all. Maybe need to listen the end of the story with Frankfurt and Berlin at some point.
  8. ^ Plant is strong on that one in 75 standards and astonishingly better compared to 12th of February. The SBD is quite mellotron heavy but it is a solid 75 version. Plant skips the coda in a way but Bonham brings some thunder to it. It is just that in 77 they executed the song much to better to my ears.
  9. ^ Yes, don't understand the dismissive comments about the 73 MSG shows. I've got the 28th and 29th boot and they both rock. 28th especially is a stellar show. Maybe the bad rap is due to the less excellent Dazed but hey, there is another 2+ hours of stellar performance.
  10. Just gave another listen to 28.4. 1977. A strong contender... In general they nailed Kashmir 77 better than 75. Not just Plant's voice but the whole thunder of the thing plus the coda. They nailed NQ better 75 than 73 and Dazed got a slight polish for 75 vs. previous years too (controversial, I know). Despite the "decay" of some of the band members the show kept on evolving and one could argue it even improved although individual inputs, when compared to earlier ones, were sometimes worse. Edit: maybe another go on the ones from 1980 but I am with Strider here about the mellotron. The sound of it really boosted the numbers where it was used.
  11. 28.4.1977 The animal is so different vs. 1971. This is the old bull.
  12. This one is a lot easier on the ears.
  13. Most of the "best bootleg" threads are archived so let me reveal here which ones made Jimi's cut. A couple of things. In the early and mid noughties I had stuff from 1970, 1973, 1975 & 1977 but the recent revelation of the youtube channels has enabled me to listen to the shows and judge if the sound quality and performance justify a physical copy. To make things short I have tried to keep a high standard for the sound quality and the show and I try to have as complete shows as possible. This list can be helpful anyone wanting to give a listen to a particular Zep show on the LedZeppelin Boots youtube channel for instance. The ones that could be left out: 1969 24.4. Conquering California (pretty bad soundwise) 1971 1.4.BBC (I mean the boot has it all and is the one I listen but the official version tells the story pretty much) 1973 14.5. The Draq Queen of New Orleans (either that or Salt Lake City but I find the latter funny as they kept the show shorter to make it to the party in LA) 29.7. As a listening experience the second show is best bootlegged AND it actually has some stellar numbers such as CD and NQ. So what the Dazed from that show was not on the film. So that one is enough. 1975 (has a lot of fat) 14.2. Few Hours With St Valentine. If one of the three ones I have needs to be cut this would be it. Plant is rougher 12.2. but somehow I still like the show. 19. & 20.3. If you have the 21st from Seattle you do not need the other two before that. I of course need them. 24.3. All Is Safe For Rock And Roll. Of the LA run the final show with the stretched versions is the one to have. They work 50% of the time, haha, but still...!!! 1977 27.4. Destroyer (just listen to the second one) 25.5. Mighty Arms of Atlas Vol. 1. The last of the Maryland shows is enough 17.7. Seattle. I have this just becaus I have the DVD There are a couple of ones that are not that great as a show or the sound quality is not that great but they either are very historic shows or the performance is just beyond, those would be: 10.-12.1.1969 19.9.1970 4.5.1971 7.7.1980 What I lef out. I listened to some of the Australian shows, and at least one of them several times but then realized there were some soundwise greater late 71 boots and the one from Charlotte. Sorry down under... Some Millard tapes from 1975 are not on the list and I haven't actually heard all of them. Should check... Also the 77 MSG run is not well presented here. Mainly sound when you have the OK(ish) boards and Millard tapes from 77. What else, this is quite a lot. Listen to this set and the story of Zep as a live band becomes clearer. P.S. I have a very soft spot for 75 & 77 shows. 14. 25.6.77 is a contender for sure. Not long ago listened to the whole show and Kashmir a couple of times. Edit: Out of the 77 recordings 25th is definitely the best.
  15. Who agrees this is the best quality Millard recording?
  16. What about 79 versions? I’ll get me coat (The sheer power of 71 has a slight edge over 73 heaviness in my books but I enjoy them both. 73 has that transition from R&R that works so well. They were good at this, weren’t they? White Summer-Kashmir, Cat Strangle-Achilles, TSRTS-Sick Again)
  17. Only now I realize that letter k in the headline. Haha! Well done, sir.
  18. What bloody eludes me in this one is that it uses a lot of energy in explaining the ins and outs of Page's magick and Crowley things but not a fuckin' word about Plant's vocal decline in the fall/ winter 72/73 prior to their biggest tour so far. How were they dealing with it individually, as a band, from the management side etc.
