  1. I didn't know that So happy you are well now xxxx
  2. His eyes are blue. Doubt he wears contacts as I've seen him either holding or wearing glasses.
  3. What picture are you referring to? All that came up was a comment from brspled from last year.
  4. I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on him. I have some friends who are much older than I and involved in the Beat scene - some great stories and a fascinating time.
  5. Some fantastic authors there! I've not read too much Ginsberg shameful as it is because the whole beat era is something I'm quite fascinated with. Have seen some good exhibits at museums on the times, Ginsberg of course prominently featured.
  6. I love creative writing. Sounds like an interesting year though - exploring many different areas like that, especially film scripts and radio plays! I would definitely say this year will be challenging - English Lit or American as well?
  7. I'm sorry - I've had that happen before. Thank goodness nothing else was burnt though.
  8. I'd be willing to bet Robert knows who Sonny is As you said, his knowledge of music is encyclopedic. I don't have any ideas on what I'd want the guys to work on. For me it's about what moves them. I just want and hope they keep working for a long time
  9. Oops Great photo btw. Shame that Jimmy (assuming he has them which would make sense) won't release them - part of the greatness of those situations is the spontaneity of it all.
  10. Now THAT would be amazing if the audio surfaced from that night :o
  11. There were plans to do another Honeydrippers cd but Robert felt (and I agree) when Ahmet Ertegun passed, there was no point. As far as a cd of Robert's pre-zep days, there was never one. 66 to Timbuktu is an official release and has most of the songs on there which would be your best bet. As far as Robert working with Sonny Landreth (which you have mentioned quite frequently) - I suspect if Robert was interested in that, he'd have pursued it. The fact he hasn't I would assume it's not a direction he wants to take at this time
  12. That's really lovely mate. Your positive attitude and perserverance are really so inspiring and admirable. Cheers
  13. All The King's Horses is an original composition
  14. I envy how easy it is for you to get to so many places! Take lots of pics
  15. Not to lecture but PLEASE get a mammogram my friend I think it's what your genes are predisposed to I would suspect. My aunt had breast cancer and a double mastectomy but she was a heavy smoker and when she went through menopause, back then she was put on really high doses of estrogen which I think they don't do or you're balanced out with progesteren - I'm not exactly sure how that is. I would say if you suspect you're entering menopause, see your gynocologist and discuss the different options. Good idea for a thread Slave!
  16. Black Magic Woman - Santana
  17. That sounds fantastic!!! A place on my list to visit some day. So happy for you. I would imagine it's not a long flight for you. I used to be a lousy flier but I've sort of gotten over it as I got used to it.
  18. Moonlight in Samosa and Colours of a Shade are two of my favorites as well
  19. There's been some studies that show soy products can increase your chances. If you eat soy, better to have it fermented - tempeh and seitan are good examples. I've spoken to nutritionists on this as I eat soy as well - they said a serving a day isn't excessive and you should be fine.
