  1. If you really like "Plantations", you should check this out. Compiled by a fan from many shows. Plantations, Dedications, Deliberations, and Sinister Connotations, 1969 - 1980 Compiled and completed between August 13-15, 2006 by the Seventh Son The premise is quite simple: This is a collection of unique live quotes from Robert Plant, otherwise known as Plantations. The collection contains no live performances from the group (unless you count the birthday tribute to Bonzo on track 60), but I figured the idea would be accepted by the community because Robert Plant was such an incredible frontman, and always had the right things to say on stage. Enjoy! 2. It's entirely subjective, you like what you like. I'm not a huge fan of DC myself but I realise he has talent. As for Gillan, Deep Purple and the album In Rock, I'd put that up there with anything in the Led Zeppelin canon. And "Made In Japan" is a far superior live album than "The Song Remains The Same", albeit not under the same constraints as having to be matched with available film. Just my opinion, not a definitive.
  3. Correct. Blackmore was well aware of Page, both guitarists had been session musicians in the early/middle 60's, Blackmore primarily playing on Joe Meek productions. Sacking Rod Evans and hiring Ian Gillan was a direct reaction to the first Zeppelin opus, which culminated in the seminal "Deep Purple In Rock" album. Which everyone should own.
  4. Wrong singer. Ian Gillan was brought into the band on Blackmore's instigation as he wanted "...a screamer like Robert Plant."
  5. That's it. The version I have had a free cd of the soundtrack (some of) included.
  6. Have you seen the Whitesnake DVD that was released a year or so ago? Excellent show recorded in London with the old bugger still in fine voice. Well worth a look.
  7. Some of the guitarists who have been in Whitesnake: John Sykes Steve Vai Adrian Vandenberg Doug Aldrich Why would Coverdale want to steal Page? The only advantage is in the realms of publicity.
  8. Seeing as they appear to have a back catalogue larger than Frank Zappa and J S Bach combined, could any kind soul give me a starting point?

  19. Who is this Clark Knut of which you speak? I am Styrbjorn Johan-Johan-Johnason. My adopted father had a stutter. After a hard days work designing inappropriate furniture I like nothing more than chatting with my Zeppelin chums on the interweb. The days are dark here in Sweden, there is little to do.
