Virginia
Thanks that was nice, this is my bros fav. band and I was surprised to find out they are a Jam band and considered on of the best at that. I like violin and brass but I would have prefered some guitar in the end jam. If you like violin with rock check out Widespead Panic - 07-04-08 Rothbury (bootleg) with ann marie calhoun on violin/fiddle. If you dont know her look her up but i suspect as a DMB fan you should know her. Thanks!
Kashmir330
Definately check out such tunes as Eyes Of The World, Estimated Prophet, and Playing In The Band by the Grateful Dead. All were live vehicles for much improvisation. Also check out such Phish songs as Mike's Song , Weekapaug Groove, Ghost, Split Open And Melt, and Bathtub Gin. jimmie ray
The Outlaws "Green Grass and High Tides" Probably the greatest jam tune ever, given the distain many have for the overplayed "Freebird", at least. I used to make the most of my quarter on the jukebox by selecting this at every dart match, along with "Bring it on Home" when victory was soon to be sealed... The Rover
I like ELP's Tarkus from the triple live LP from the 1973/74 tour.
Charles_Obscure
It's hard to beat the Allman Bros. and The Grateful Dead.

What a damn shame!!
